Very popular and 2 favourites of mine as well.

Last holiday I heard a funny song in which the words tap tap tap tap are repeated many times. Tap means liver in Thai. Does anyone have a link to a mp3 or clip of that song ?

I like Sek Loso, but in my opinion the songs below are far more popular for the moment:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhcfXmj28wY : Mun Taun Tauhng (มันต้องถอน)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vocomCyvh08 : Luk Thevada (ลูกเทวดา)

: Chimi Chimi (ชิมิ ชิมิ) (already mentionned)

: Kin Tap (กินตับ) (already mentionned)

Learning a thai song isn't so easy ! You need time - so don't hurry too much for your wedding :GoldenSmile1:

Well, if you want to learn an easy Thai song then you should have a look at the Elephant Song, or in Thai "Pleng Chaang"

It's a children's song that every Thai knows and if they hear a Farang sing it you can be sure to see nothing but smiles :D

Here's a link to a lovely Thai lady by the name of Bon, singing and explaining the song:

Note: if you're learning Thai you should have a look at her other lessons too, they're pretty good!

Last trip in Feb I made up a couple of DVD's of Thai songs from You Tube I liked and they went down very well with the ladies.

A lot of them aren't current. But they were the ones I liked.

Gik from DD asked to convert a whole bunch for her phone.

Here are a few of the ones I had.

Girly Berry are very popular. I wonder why?

I love the slap bass in the first one.

This was on the BKK charts in Jan.

These girls aren't Thai... the ladies and I loved this track.

... especially when we did a little line dance together. :D

This was big at the beginning of the year.

This was a favourite. It's just fun. The girls got a laugh out of me singing the ladies chorus

As to how popular these are mate... my suggestion would be to ask the girls what they are listening to on their phones.:)

No, this song is "Mun Taun Tauhng" (มันต้องถอน), it's the first one that I mentioned in my reply on 16 April.

The "Tap Tap" song, is the "Kin Tap" (กินตับ)- meaning "eat liver", the last one mentioned in the same reply.

Here's my top four of the tracks that you will hear virtually every cover band play :

Bodyslam :

25Hours :

And of course Bird Thongchai :

And this is probably the one you want to be singing at your wedding :

A bit of a shot in the dark as to the 'most popular', but here are a couple that will be familiar to most Thais young and old. Both are by Poompuang Duangjan, the first Luk Thung superstar who tragically died at the age of 31 in 1992. She was universally popular - even the King attended her funeral (quite astonishing for an 'illiterate peasant girl'). The first track is dedicated to the Thais popular snack and the second mirrors the aspirations of many who come from so-called lowly backgrounds.
