i am planning on coming to thailand soon and staying as long as i can.

 

can i get a long term holiday visa instead of doing the visa run to cambodia every month

I suggest having a look at the thread called Thailand Tourist FAQ. If you have any specific question then ask.

 

Another option may be a non-immigrant type O visa but some embassies/consultates are easier to get them from than others.

If you are over 50, you should apply for retirements Visa, I year... If not, there is various ways to get long term visa like what scumbag had mentioned in posts above,,, I got two months non- immigrant from thai consulate in Dublin with no problems.. Took only less than 2 weeks to recieve the passport stamp from them...
