Just got an email from the forums giving me a promo code to upgrade account? Can someone please explain to me what it is please :/

Check out sender address, it could be a third party address with no connection to the forum. Also, if there is a link to "foruum", check it for misspellings, since it could be a fraud website with viruses. If so - ignore it or add to SPAM list.

However, if it looks fine - wait untill moderators/admins will provide you with information on how to upgrade your account at this topic or via PM. =)

Everything looks legit all from the right address etc. Well ill wait to get a PM from them to confirm it i guess :/

It does sound a bit dodgy to me.

Congratulations you've got a promo code.

Links show addicts.

But when you lick on them they take you to a cloned copy of the site logon screen.

You enter our username and password.

Get some error message.

And your Id has been nicked.

 

If you hover over the link it should show on the bottom of screen where they actually go to.

 

 

Best to wait for some mods I guess. maybe its legit and just light on info.

Sounds wrong to me though.

The whole point of advanced member status is its hard to get to protect the guys who post pictures of girls and dont' want some idiot screwing things up for them.

We do not give out "promo codes" for advanced status. Nor do we have any way of doing so.

 

The only way to be promoted to advanced is by one of the admin/mods manually doing it in the forums admin control panel once there account has been reviewed.
