I know this thread is about taxis, but, because I maybe travelling alone (and someone mentioned the Bell Bus at 200 baht) how long does it take to get from BKK to Patts, i.e. many stops? and where in Patts does it stop?

The Bell bus takes you to Pattaya where you transfer into smaller Vans/minibus that then take you to your accommodation.

 

Going back to the OP, has anyone used [email protected] with Khun Tiger recently, are they still providing a service?

Yehah mate, they are still providing the service. I used them over Christmas / New Year and they were great. I emailed him yesterday to arrange my Swampy to Pattaya transfer in April and he responded in the positive. Quoted price was 1200 from Airport to Pattaya (wait with sign as I clear immigration) and 1000 on the return. I arrive at 11pm at night, so it'll be midnight by the time I clear immigration, so I can't complain with that price in a nice trusted car at that time of night.

 

At New Years they were on time, knew exactly where to go and plenty of leg room in the back of the car.

Ok there names (hubby/wife team with 2 cars) you have Khun Tiger and his charming wife khun Rin .Both speak very good english ,both dont drive in a crazy fast or uncomfertable manner (you feel safe at all times )

 

They will do pick up from anywhere and drop off anywhere ,they also will drive you anywhere in thailand

A certain party and I baled out to Cambodia recently and after contacting Rin, she first organised a taxi to bring my accomplice out to me the night before ( I live in the Jungle North of Pattaya by 20+ kms) and then collected us the next morning and took us to Had Lek / Cham Yeam for the Koh Kong border crossing - 3000 Baht.

 

Beautiful clean (non smoker I assume) Camry and a smooth relaxed stress free ride. Arruved in good time relaxed and fresh.

 

I returned alone as the other party is still there lubbed up. I came CC by bus as far as Pattaya Nua bus station ($28 from Phnom Penh) and Khun Tiger collected me and brought me safely back into the Jungle.

 

Highly recommended.

From PA board recco's I have used Mr T ([email protected]) over that last 6 months on 3 trips. 1000B including tolls

from SBV airport to Pattaya. I usually give 100B tip. Have had sedans, small vans, and even a minibus, all good. I

did take from Pattaya to BKK one trip and I suspect driver didn't know bkk as well (even tho we were staying soi

4 Nana!)

 

For buses, Bell Bus is good but I hate the thought of sitting at SBV airport waiting 1 hour+ to get to pattaya after

long flight so I only do on the return. They pick up from your hotel. If you have 3 people though, taxi is simpler

and not much diff in cost.

 

The other coaches leave from SBV level 1 btw gates 7-8 and have a wider time service that Bells. Arrives at Thapraya

opposite Pan Pan, then catch Baht bus to your hotel. A bit of stuffing around if you can be bothered...

 

I have done the VIP bus trip from Ekkamai a few times, thats quite easy if you are staying on Sukhmuvit and catch BTS

without too much baggage.

I'm sura at the time someone had recommended them om the board. What I like is that the driver has called me every time as I'm in the immigration queue.

 

After a long haul flight, I just want in my cab, and get to my hotel in Pattaya asap with no fuss.

 

It is 1000 bht to Pattaya, and 900 back to the airport.

 

I have been kept waiting / had drivers not turning up a couple of times in the past with other companies.

Well let me start by saying i dont get any discount nor % by talking about the taxi that i use .

 

I am talking about them because i use them and for the price they charge its great value ,better still you will be picked up in a late model camry which has room to stretch out in and makes to ride down to pattata a pleasant one .

From my own experience with Mr. T, I find that hard to believe. I've never heard anyone on this forum make that complaint, so my guess is that your second hand source is not reliable.

Actually, that complaint has popped up in a few threads. Not saying it's true, just that I've seen it. I just used Jan from Utapao for 600B (versus 800B for Mr. T) and was quite pleased. Her husband is a BM here. Jan and I had a pleasant conversation on the way to the airport, and she gave me some good tips for saving money when I come back. Perhaps someone else can vouch for BKK pick-up service. e-mail Paul ([email protected]) for more info.

Since picking up Mr T info from this very forum I have used him for pick up and return on the last 6 trips. By and large superb service with no major dramas. Some drivers dont say a word, one just crapped on all the way to the airport but he was fun, the minivan guy last week took 2.5 leisurely hours to get to SBV but we had plenty of time to kill, mostly the trip down would not be faster on the space shuttle, foot to the floor. The Bell Bus service is nice n leisurely as is the service form RRC opposite Pan Pan restaurant on Thapraya Road.

 

Long gone are the days we'd pay 2000B plus tolls!

Thought I would bump this post ,Used Mr Tiger today from Pattaya back to Nana . Pick up in Pattaya hotel right on time ,clean and nice car . 1200THB and they pay all the toll's . Nice people safe and on time ,if you need a ride -glad I found them on here .
