How did you find out about Pattaya and how long did it take you to book your first trip after you heard about it?

I think I'd stumbled across some mongering sites (worldsexguide.com) when I was in my teens hunting for internet porn and I'd read these fabulous stories. So it become lodged in my mind as a fantasy.

 

However, I was in steady, monogamous relationship from the age of 17-25 so didn't have the chance. Then it never really came up for the next couple of years. I was working hard and never really took holidays.

 

Then I first took the trip out to SE Asia at 28. Had been dating a girl for a year but I was little more cynical and wise about complete monogamy. I decided to go out to Hong Kong as it seemed an innocent sounding destination. I lied about having an old uni mate 'Mike' teaching english out there. I did actually go out drinking with someone over there but it was just a random from the internet. Took lots of photos with my good friend Mike. She was a little but suspicious but to be honest I couldn't see the relationship going far anyway so I wasn't that bothered.

 

Hong Kong was fun to see for a few days but the whoring was rubbish. First night I met a Korean girl in the hotel bar. She was an utter bitch in the room later. She was only interested in ST - get the money and get out. She started doing these weird exaggerated asian sounds when undressing me like that scene in that Bill Murray film 'Lost in Translation'. I ended up saying 'Ok this isn't working.' and just wanted her to take the money and leave. Then she started angrily saying stuff in Korean. A weird, unpleasant experience.

 

Then another night a slightly better experience but I wanted to party with the girl and she just wanted to give me a covered BJ and leave... which was kinda dull and horrible.

 

Then my first ever soapie. It was ok.

 

So I dipped my toe in the waters in Hong Kong.

 

Then a year or so later I was single and booked my flight to the whorist's paradise Thailand. Booked three weeks but partied hard in Bangkok and came home after 9 days. Hard to believe now but it was just too much.

Did Nana, Cowboy just to look and picked up girls at the discos. I intended to pick up normal girls in normal discos but that only happened once. The rest wanted taxi money.

 

But Thailand had stuck in my head and I ended up going back to BKK a few months laters and having a great time.

 

Then one of my best mates from uni mentioned he had been out to Thailand. After a few beers we started tentatively exchanging stories. I talked about pulling birds in Bangkok nightclubs and mentioning some taxi money in the morning. My mate talked about meeting girls in a town called Pattaya but 'he never paid for it' 'just a few present here and there'. All BS, of course, but we were just edging round the truth.

 

Then we went out for a holiday to Pattaya together...and the rest is history. Now we are fucked for life.

 

Come to think of it I've not had a relationship lasting more than a couple of months since that first visit to Thailand.

Been to thailand a number of times mainly to Phuket,last year decided to try pattaya after reading how cheap it was compared to Phuket.Had a great time there and it's better value than Phuket.

Will be back in pattaya mid september,don't think I would go back to Phuket any time soon.

in March/April 2009, as I was in between jobs, i managed to secure one month holiday, that we spent together, the main goal was to go to surf spots in Indonesia

 

the first stop however was Phuket, where I met him on my trip from Europe. and I fitted in the bar-mongering quite well, much to his surprise. after a few days, we got back to our original plan, and went to Bali and Lombok, and although we had a great time, I was still thinking about this Phuket experience. every now and then, he mentioned Pattaya, and how in his opinion, it was just the upper level, to which he thought I could not adjustt

 

in the end, we convinced each other I had to try ;-)

 

needless to say, i loved it. had a ball....

 

within one week after my return to farangland, I had booked my next trip (September 2009).

since then, went back again in November 2009, and August 2010, and it looks like i'll have an opportunity to stop by again end of September.....

 

there is a remote chance i'm addicted

I first came here (Pattaya) in 1999 with a friend. I knew nothing about it but by 10 AM we were going full tilt. I then came back every six months for vacation (all over Thailand). I eventually moved here in 2005 when I was 26 and have been here ever since.

A friend and I at work decided we wanted to visit South East Asia, so we booked an hotel in BKK for three nights and then took advice from other perverts trawling through the bars in Bangkok and they said Pattaya is the place to go. I first came to Pattaya aged 37 in 1984, that was 26 years ago and did not come again till 15 years later in 1999 but have been a regular visitor ever since. I now spend half my time in Pattaya and the other half in London.

 

In 1984 it was a lot more expensive than now (30 baht to the UK pound), I was also working hard at three jobs and it was hard to get enough time off to make the journey worthwhile again. If anything Pattaya was even better back then but I was still able to get hold of women in the UK if I put myself out. In those days no one I knew had ever visited the LOS before but tales were circulating about the availability of sexually promiscuous women. In those days the standard holiday destinations for young British people were Spain and Greece and drunken English girls were the prey we pursued with varying degrees of success. At 37 I was getting a bit too old for Spain and the I found the drunken behaviour of fellow Brits offensive and an embarrassment so my pal and I booked a holiday in Thailand, 3 nights in BKK and 16 nights in Pattaya for about 600 quid. What an experience that was as we did not know what to expect. But the expense put me off coming back for the next 15 years.

 

Then in 1999 I found that a workmate had started going to Pattaya on a regular basis so I started accompanying him. By this time I was semi retired but still earning good money. By 2004 I was fully retired and had salted away sufficient funds to lead the life I still lead today although the weak pound has placed limits on my expenditure in the last two years.

I find it a sad reflection on our Western societies that so many young fellows are now having to come to the LOS to seek agreeable female companionship.

I came to Thailand with a mate in 1999. We hit Bangkok and then Samui and Koh Phangan. We took a couple of girls for a night in Bangkok but back then we were more interested in getting stoned all day, and that is exactly what we did.

 

A few years ago I split up with a long term girlfriend a wanted to get away from it all over the festive season so booked a trip to Bangkok. Picked up a girl on one of the first nights and stayed with her for the next three trips. We traveled round a bit but predictably she didn't take me to Pattaya until, that is, one day coming back from Koh Chang we got on the wrong bus and ended up there.

 

We only spent a night in Pattaya but I was amazed at how cheap everything was compared to Bangkok. I found it a bit seedy at first (but soon got over that) and made a mental note to come back - on my own . The rest, as they say, is history

It was a little more than 1 year ago, Ive went on holiday to Thailand with my dad and my 2 young brothers. We had gone to bangkok, but never seen the mongering scene there, after that we went to Chiang mai where I had my first en second BG. After that we went to ko samet, wich i really hated because I wanted to go back to Chiang mai. 2 days in ko samet we decided to go to another place, wich was pattaya. I didnt know anything about this city, neighter my dad did. Offcourse we had spended our last 8 days in Pattaya. In november 2009 I made a solo trip myself for 5 weeks, the end of January I moved to pattaya and now I'm living in Pattaya for 7+ months. Its been great and until a year ago I could never think I would find myself living in Thailand at the age 20 years. Life can be so beautiful

I came to Thailand in 2004 with my girlfriend to do the backpacking thing..neither of us had heard of Pattaya before the trip .. we planned to go to Bangkok, Chaing Mai and Koh Pangyang.

 

A guy in some bar on Khaoson Road told us that the nearest holiday resort to BKK was Pattaya, so we checked it out for a couple of nights .. she hated it and I pretended to agree, but I secretly wished she wasn't with me. All I could think of was all the fun I could have in this town if I was single!

 

A year later we split up, and I booked a flight to Thailand the following week..It'll be my seventh trip next month next month !

Many years ago some of friends have visited at Pattaya. No talk very much what kind of paradise it is. I've been in Spain several times. Thinking many times to go LOS. But still going to Spain or Italy or some other European country. Nothing wrong these countries. But....

 

Then came one of my friends birthday and he invited me to Pattaya. I like that guy. Without him I maybe never go Pattaya.

 

No I try to come back every year. Hard working 11 months then one month in LOS. I like Thailand.

When I 1st was walking around it was almost too much,besides how cheap and beautiful the girls were,they were such a delight to spend time with unlike the girls working or not in America. Almost one year ago my friends told me they are going to Thailand and I wanted to join the trip, knowing nothing about LOS in the spring of 2010. I started researching and some people told me: "hmmm, Thailand, ask the girls for IDs," which finally led me to the notion that Pattaya is the most valuable place in Thailand.

 

Luckily, at the moment of buying the tickets my friends already cancelled their trip, decided to go elsewhere, and I went here alone. Just by chance I started my best journey so far!

Spend most of the time in Phuket, Ko Pha Ngan & Bangkok.

Holiday was pretty "Meh" in general, only thing I really can recall is getting smiles from hot girls everywhere we went.

I made sure to drop the girlfriend before my next holiday to LOS in 2005.

Found information on Pattaya from stickmans bangkok.

I've never really bothered much with culture or taking pictures of waterfalls, so Pattaya was perfect!

Been back 3 times since & usually split the time between Bangkok & Pattaya.

About 2 years ago, I was on a day cruise around our local harbour. Booze cruise, about 10 boats cruise out, find a nice spot then all tie up together to make a big party platform. Drinks, drinks and more drinks. Men only, no partners allowed. My mate disappeared for a while, then came back on a speed boat with 3 strippers. Happy days. One girl was Thai and absolutely gorgeous.

 

I had just nursed my wife through cancer and eventually her death for the last 2 1/2 years, sex for me was a forgotten thing. I did have plenty of calluses on my right hand though from over use in the shower. Anyway, I only knew one person on this cruise, so I was talking to some guys I had just met. The strippers put on a show, then worked their way up and down the boats for the rest of the day serving drinks, lap dances and ST down stairs in the boats. Great day.

 

The Thai girl was chatting to a guy near me and I was gobsmacked, she looked perfect. Beautiful face, small, feminine, but damn sexy. The way she moved just captivated everyone around her. I mentioned this to the guy I was talking too, and he told me that he was married, but his wife lets him go on holidays alone every year, and he always goes to Thailand. I picked his brain for the rest of the day. His mate did the same thing, but went to Brazil. They both agreed that Thailand was better for the girlfriend experience. To be honest, I was 44yrs old, I'd been with the same women, in love, for the last 25years, I had never even heard of mongering. Didn't know what it was.

 

I came back from the cruise, next day booked a trip to Thailand, by myself, and left three days later. Had no idea were to go, I can't remember whether I found this site before or after my first trip. Did some research on the net, and read about Pattaya. So, being an Aussie, we all have heard of Phuket, I booked 3 days in Pattaya and then 7 days in Phuket.

 

Arrived in Pattaya about 6.30pm, shower, then out on the town. I walked along beach road from North Pattaya, first soi I walked into was Soi 6. No I'm no angel, and the six didn't put me off. If anything, all I did was think to myself, this is better than Disneyland. By 7.30pm had my first barfine, the rest is the addiction we all know so well.

 

I left Pattaya, headed for Phuket, but because I had no idea what I was doing, ended up in a hotel about 2 hours drive from Patong and all the action. The whole hotel was full of Russian that didn't speak English and didn't even acknowledge you. I lasted one night, fuck this, and rang and arranged flight and accomodation back in Pattaya.

 

Three trips in the first 4-5 months, totally hooked. I leave in 11 days for another 6 weeks and then I'll try 6 months shortly after that.

Well, this is a bit of a story, and it happens in 3 distinct ways that are all sorta mishmashed together over the course of 5 or 6 years.

I'll just divvy them up into 3 separate stories.

1. A couple-3 years ago, I get a phone call from a friend whom I haven't seen in about 10 years. We shoot the shit for awhile and play catch-up. Eventually he gets around to the point of the call which was to brag.

He lives in a town called Vernon which is in the southern interior of British Columbia, Canada.

It seems that his girlfriend had sent him down to the travel agent to buy tickets to Seattle so they could go to her sisters' birthday party. He walked into the travel agent and noticed on a sign that they Had a Thailand special on. It was the same price as a flight to Seattle. (Oh, how I wish I could find those prices today). He buys the Thailand tickets and goes home to inform his sweety that they were gonna miss the sisters' birthday party. She doesn't put up much of a fight, and he just wanted to tell me all the touristy stuff they did and what a great, beautiful, and friendly country it is. They never went anywhere near Pattaya.

2. A buddy of mine, a fellow board member had met a great Thai lady in his home town, and went out with her for a few years. I met her several times and thought she was just an awesome person. They eventually split up, but stayed best friends. She hooked up with a new guy, and they both sold their houses and decided to do 6 months Canada, and 6 months Pattaya. (They have a great house there now, and live simply when in Canada.) After a while, my buddy gets an invite to go visit them in Pattaya. Leaving me behind after I had been badgering him for a couple years to get a passport, (the knob gobbler) he fucks off to Pattaya where his friends show him the ropes and the touristy stuff and a whole bunch of the nightlife. He comes back totally addicted and insists that this time I gotta go with him and that it`s fantastic. So, we do, and it is.

3. My partner and I run and own a couple of popular Thai websites as well as a bunch of other Asian-Centric sites, and neither one of us has ever been to Thailand. He has a Korean wife and has obviously been to Korea, but Thailand had never really crossed our minds to visit as we know nobody there and all our business can be conducted via courier and the internet.

Well, of course I had to go...I even have business to conduct, and some people to contact when I get there!

Funny how plans in Pattaya fall apart. I never did hook up with any of my Thailand contacts, and as for business....

Hell! I was on Holiday!

Will most likely be back in April or May of this year. Don`t know if I want to deal with a week of Songkran as a couple days would be OK, but a week of water sounds a bit much.

Strangely enough it was a couple of bargirls in Bangkok that put the idea in my head. My first two mongering trips I spent two weeks each time at the Majestic Grande in Soi 2. I was aware of a place called Pattaya but at that time had not given it much thought. On the first trip one lady asked how long I spend in Bangkok - I replied all of the stay. She said many men split their trips with some time spent in Pattaya. On my second trip a six night long time barfine suggested that we go to Pattaya for a couple of days. Since I had already prepaid my stay at the hotel I was not wanting to pay out more at another hotel (and it was Christmas and i did not want the bother.) She had worked in Pattaya before working at Tilac in Cowboy and I got the impression that she wanted a paid trip to Pattaya more than I wanted to go there at that time.

With a lot of investigation on the internet and joining this message board I organised my first trip to Pattaya.So it was mentioned in October but not until the following May did I first arrive in Pattaya(eight months). My fifth trip next June I will spend first four nights in Bangkok, one week in Chaing Mai and two weeks in Pattaya. So my time spent in Bangkok has reduced in comparison to my time spent in Pattaya. (Money considerations primarily).
