They have also surrounded the compound where PM is which also happens to be army barracks, more troops have been sent to protect him and the barracks

Quote from the paper

"Reinforcements of troops have been called from the Second and Third Army Regions to the 11th Infantry Regiment in Bangkok after the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship announced red-shirt protesters would go there on Monday if the government did not respond to its call for House dissolution, said the website of the peace-keeping operation centre."

In my opinion violence is inevitable.

I do not believe red shirts will target foreigners, however Bangkok is a ghost town, in the sense that hardly any "normal" people are out, traffic and road blocks.

Saying the above give the mob enough of unlimited alcohol and everything is possible.

We are not talking about scientists conference, we are talking about thousands of farmers and unemployed under the same umbrella and lots of alcohol.

Just to the maths and use common sense, unless going to BKK is essential-i would keep as far away as possible

LOL

In that case refer to my guide earlier

1. Always make sure to have 1 red piece of clothing. Should you run into "red" trouble

2. Always have 1 yellow piece of clothing. Should you run into "yellows"

3. Always have 1 green piece of clothing, should you run into cops or army, this way you can claim you just in fashion!

4. Do not go out topless, as you could be raped by the ladyboys

all you need is a cameroon football shirt (red / yellow / green) lol ..

O you who turn the wheel and look to windward, Consider Phlebas, who was once handsome and tall as you.

Basically at all times, wear red shirt, yellow shorts and green shoes.

Dude, that is funny as fuck...why not just get an Italian flag t-shirt, good to go! Everyone knows the Italians are lovers, not fighters! And, the colors work perfectly!

Cheers, Alex

I hope they burn the place down to be honest; nothing is going to get sorted out here until something very drastic happens. As it is the political impasse in Thailand will continue on with each side crying foul.

Do not worry it will be finished by then.

But worse comes to worse, just bring some lube with you to the airport so you can relieve yourself while waiting :FunnyPost1:

Think you can relax louie. Didn't last very long last year.

Todays newspaper report they already start to run out of steam. Watching Thai TV all day, only traffic jams and pouring blood outside PM's home, demonstration outside the US embassy. Don't look to heated on telly.

Tourist Authorities today guaranteed foreigners safety in the media.

Past through BKK on Sat 13th coming from Udon Thani to Pattaya, bus took 90mins longer than normal as the reds were protesting along the roads coming past the old airport area (Ransit area?). Got to Mo Chit about 90mins later than I should have but that was the last I saw of any problems. Took the BTS to Ekkamai just incase there were traffic jams in town (was about 7:30PM so protests or not I would have used the BTS) and headed to Pattaya. 3AM on the 16th went from Patts to the airport ... no problems at all (but it was 3am, the roads were deserted).

I think there is less chance being hurt by the "reds" then being robbed by the ladyboy or die of viagra overdose as long as you do not go into the heart of protests.

But if you want to be safe, here is some guide

Basically at all times, wear red shirt, yellow shorts and green shoes.

In short... if you are jamaican, you got nothing to worry about :D

:P looks like ill be going topless then

To be fair, technically you have been raped by a ladyboy. In stringfellows that time, that butch ladyboy forced you to touch his cock. At the very least that counts as a serious sexual assault. If a bloke in the local boozer in glasgow did that, you would chin him wouldn't you? :Grin_Jump1:

More red shirts on Saturday 27 march

Red Shirts to March on Bkk Streets Again Next Saturday

UPDATE : 22 March 2010

DAAD Leader Jatuporn Prompan announced on the red shirt rally stage last night that the protesters will take to the streets of Bangkok once again on Saturday, March 27. Jatuporn reasoned that, because the red shirts received such as warm welcome from city residents, they will make another visit across the

capital again this Saturday.

I have a gut feeling if the protest doesn,t work, they will focus on Airport sit in like last time with the yellow shirts and they did a successful job to oust the governments.

Army had set up at the airport this morning ( Tuesday ) when I arrived to fly out. Saw no sign of them when i arrived on the 5th March. So looks like its not over yet.
