Third trip to Pattaya

Getting ready for my third trip to Pattaya.  Thus, I am more experienced than some, lots to learn from others.  Setting this out today to stop ‘wishing my life away’.  I am anxious to be there, but equally I need to enjoy today and the next few days too.  Same when I come back. A bit of mindfulness is not woke bullshit. Fish and chips.  Wetherspoons. Cold rain. Today is part of the journey.

How have I planned?

• I got my OTC drugs (Ibuprofen, Pseudoephedrine), my condoms (Skyns extra large (Ok normal)), and even some Doxycycline. Chargers, adapters and power-pack ready.  Didn’t bother getting baht – I have 5000 left and easy to get when I am there.

• I tried to buy shorts. Guys seam to wear shorts all the time here these days, but shops don’t sell them in October.  Pigs. A task for a Pattaya mall.

• I worried about how to say ‘Pattaya’.  By my third trip I should know, right? Patty -ah? Pa TAY ah? OMG better check Wikipedia.

• I refuse to plan where to go or who to see first.  Will go with the flow. Soi 6, WS, GCs – no planning needed.

• Hmm my 3 favourites from last time … when should I drop them a Line message to tell them I’m in town? I’m thinking when I wake up on morning 1.

• I know how to enjoy today.  Figure out how many working girls there are in Pattaya.  Is it more than the whole UK? Happy mongering dude.. I have done 4 trips to Pattaya already.. Next year in June I'm planning my next trip. I buy condoms, paracetamol, doxycycline, some viagra from home itself. I stay for around 2 weeks each time.

In Thailand, pseudoephedrine is a controlled substance and requires a prescription from a doctor. It is not sold over the counter at pharmacies. 

This strict regulation is due to past issues where pseudoephedrine-based cold medicines were diverted by drug gangs for the illegal production of methamphetamine.

I upgraded my trip to Bangkok to premium economy on my direct 12-hour flight.  Was worth it: I got a good 6 hours sleep on the plane and woke up feeling like it was morning (it was 4PM). Will help me stay up late and sleep late which is not my habit at home.  Mike’s taxi picked me up and the trip to Sandy Spring hotel was perfect.  Quick shower and out of my heavy travel clothes and off I go. 7PM or so.

Day 2. After a late breakfast in the Sportsman, I sorted out some extra supplies (wine, juice, lube).  Felt like a GC afternoon, so went to two good places: Babylon (BongKoch 5) and RedHouse (BongKoch 8).
