I have never found that.

But all policies I have taken out, over the years, the bike can be no larger than 125cc, helmet must be worn, driver must have the proper license for the Country, and not be under the influence of drink and drugs.

And that goes for riding pillion on a motorbike taxi also.

You've obviously chosen decent policies, as I said in my post some companies don't cover motorbikes in Thailand at all.

And plenty of people have found out to their cost, that they are not covered due to not complying or being unaware of only one of the conditions that you listed.

I imagine a high percentage of Brits being denied insurance, after getting into scooter accidents, are suffering the consequences of misinterpreting the part that often states that they should be fully licensed within the UK, when all they actually have is their CBT.

I find it quite irresponsible, considering how thick some of the general public are, that not a single policy I've read has stated that a CBT is not a full license.

Compulsory Basic Training certificate that allows you to ride up to a 125, but you must display an L plate at all times; avoid motorways; and cannot take passengers.

Travel insurance can seem like a maze of options and extras. If you're confident that you don't need things like cancellation coverage or lost luggage protection, then it makes sense to save your money and go for a more basic plan that covers medical emergencies and personal liability.

Out of interest I just tried to find coverage purely for Medical and nothing else out of UK

The laptop is developing a headache over that simple request giving plenty of variations but nothing exact

Anyone know of a specific insurer out there...thanks

Most of the stuff people get up to on holiday would most likely render your insurance useless anyway i.e. 'being under the influence'.

The motorbike one is a grey area. How many times have you been able to smell alcohol on the driver? How many times do you wear a helmet?

Also bolt/grab, how many times has the person driving not been the person shown in the app?

My last trip to Pattaya I ended up in Pattaya memorial hospital for 5 days. Specialist care and tests, 24 hour nurse, 10 minute check-ups, private room etc and the total cost was only 18,000 baht which I would have had to pay even if I had insurance as I was 'under the influence' at the time of admission.

You know the rules, Don't trust 'em, don't love 'em - And don't let 'em fool you.

One of my insurers offered motorcycle insurance up to 125cc and unlimited If I held a full licence, I do.

Seriously hidden in the “small print” was that this unlimited size only applied if I had ridden that bike from my own country,

5555.

I can not imagine anyone from the UK honestly claiming that they believed a CBT was a valid licence, trying it on is par for the course when travelling.  A stranger has no shame in Japanese.

Watching you tube I finally understand those from USA whose families believe a Thai scooter, able to hit 100 k/hr, 3 up with baggage has any connection with the max 2hp, max 30mph, petrol driven toys anyone can ride in USA.

Speaking of which, I've always gotten my travel insurance from tiendasagicor.com. They offer comprehensive coverage, and I had a great experience with their customer service when I had to make a claim once. But hey, it's totally up to you to choose what works best for your needs. Happy travels!

I've read at least one post over on Reddit that suggests otherwise, a young guy from London who claimed he was fully covered to ride a scooter after taking one day to get [his] 125 license back home. In addition, there are plenty of posts all over the internet querying whether or not a CBT is a full license for the purposes of travel insurance. Not too much of a stretch to imagine some idiots wouldn't even think to bother asking.
