Congratulations to the England ladies(although the game is not over yet 1-1)......being a passionate Welshman I cannot think of any time during my 70+ years that I have rooted for any English team, but i cheered for these girls!...I congratulate the England ladies on a top class performance throughout the tournament, they have played their hearts out, dedicated, passionate no nonsense football (unlike the cheating prima donna men) in fact well done to all the ladies teams involved, it's been a great tournament.

It was so typically English, it was excruciating watching for the last 40 minutes of the game including extra time but we just managed to squeeze over the line. Especially sweet to beat the Germans to whom we usually lose 😀

I hope the women’s game goes on to get better established there is no doubt it’s a vastly better game with better players than even five years ago and even if there’s a fair few old school dinosaur English football fans will never treat the game the same as mens football, I don’t think it really matters anymore.
