Tinnies Jomtien

Recommended Posts

I have used Tinnies in Jomtien several times over the past few years.

I believe it is Aussie owned and run.

Must say, every meal/takeaway I have had has been good.

They seem to specialize in pies, of which I have had many steak pies, lamb pies and minced beef and all have been excellent.

They also sell good sausage rolls.

They seem to run weekly specials, I often have their hickory style beef brisket and really enjoy it.

The place itself is clean and always cool, service is good too.

Pies and sausage rolls are great to takeaway, as no waiting time.

Here's hoping they stay open in the next few weeks.

While I do like the place, have to say, they are a tad on the expensive side.

Couldnt have put it better myself.

175 for a small Lamb pie, real tasty but 175 !

More than a full meal and drink in heaps of Western places.

At the current exchange rate for the Australian dollar I would be able to buy 2 pies back home for that price.

I like the pies.  They really do taste like the aussie/kiwi version as someone living and working  in Asia I don't mind paying extra now and again for a taste of home.

And I suspect, that's the same for most customers.

Their sausage rolls are really good but at 100Baht a throw, that's 2.60 GBP, for something that costs less than a pound back home, and is about 5 mouthfuls.

Agree the pies are excellent, and also most of the other dishes. Clean inside with good service. But must say yes the prices are too expensive, but this is good for me, otherwise would be there many times a week and be as fat as a rat.

Been a regular customer since they (I found) opened.

As above, everything I have had has been top rate and worth the price. This is indeed a place where the old adage "you get what you pay for" stands true.

Love the Anzac cookies or slabs, they are too big to be called cookies :)

As others have said pricey but brilliant just like the more miserable frenchie place Delisse around the corner who makes probably the best bread in Thailand.

They did, I contacted them on FB and picked up some frozen pies and a dozen packs of ANZAC biscuits, freshly baked for my order :)

Indeed, I had one of the frozen pies on Monday, chunky steak, was delicious and chucks were tender ! :D

Looks okay to me...re pricing - 150 baht is about $6.75 AUD at todays rates- that's not too bad when you compare it to local prices here in my part of Oz especially if the gravy/sauce is included. I'd be happy to pay that price if the pies are a good as the above posters have testified. :Dunno1:

btw.. thanks for the updated info

I’m pretty sure that the gravy is included in the meal when you eat-in. I usually get a takeaway so am not 100%.

After reading the reviews and being an aussie I thought I would give this place a go with my thai wife.  Had the potato pie which was ok but not the best I've had and yep expensive.

Went back tonight for dinner. Had the chicken parma with salad, wife had Dory & chips with salad.

Parma was 285b

Dory 250b

Wife liked hers but had better, but my parma was just ok ,didnt like the salad dressing and still consider Korondo Bars parma faaar superior but at 350b is expensive or 190b on Fridays ..

Tinnie’s have an announcement posted that prices will be going up from 1 November due to a large increase in the price of Australian beef and other ingredients.

Had pie and also had a sausage roll recently.

Glad to report, quality still good.

The price of the outstanding sausage roll remains same at 100B.

However, the pie has risen from 150B to 175B now, and the lamb pie is now 195B.

Place does seem to do well, always when I pass, seems busy.
