As a question word อะไร means “what”, but if it’s not a question then it is used as the indefinite pronoun “something”

So มีอะไรกัน literally translates as “to have something together”, with the “something” being the euphemism for sex.

Compare these two to see the difference:

อยากดื่มอะไร - What do you want to drink?

มีอะไรที่อยากดื่มไหม - Is there something you want to drink?

arai can also mean "something" or "anything"

Another phrase using "arai" is:

"Bpen arai pai" (เป็นอะไรไป)

"What's wrong? / What's the matter?"

Actually, I think the most direct and informal way to talk about fucking is to use the word เย็ด ("yet"), such as "I want to fuck you" (ฉันอยากเย็ดคุณครับ), or "can I fuck you? (ฉันเย็ดคุณได้ไหมครับ). The phrase มีอะไรกับคุณ is too formal and polite, and the phrase ผมอยากนอนกับคุณ ("I want to sleep with you") is way too awkward to use in a colloquial context. These expressions are good if you're not sure whether she's a sex worker or want to speak formally, but the more common, informal expression between young Thais is to use the word เย็ด.

Using yed เย็ด is too straight forward and considered rude. If you approach the girl and shes not sex worker, you might get in trouble. Use something like “have some drink in my room” they will get the hint 😂

We are not young Thais. If you say nawn duay gan (นอนดวยกับ) you will be understood, if you use yed (เย็ด) in my opinion you'll sound rude.
