Most bars will make you buy the coke zero by the can though.

Its a bit annoying.

I don't mind so much if they leave the can next to my drink but they usually don't. Que sara, I usually order the SangSom and coke zero if i am pondering whether or not to stay at a particular establishment, Say when I've already had a few beers and do not want to neck a full bottle if i decide the atmosphere is crap, then it's just a quick swallow to down the SangSom and coke and I'm either off or I've decided to stay, then I'm usually back on the beer.

I drink a lot of diet coke and coke zero and it tasted the same in Thailand. It's all in your head.

To me Coke Light in Thailand, and Diet Coke in Australia tastes the same, as an experiment I'll take home a can of Coke Light and taste them at the same time.

All the years I've been visiting here I've never seen Diet Coke, not saying you can't get it but it would have to be imported by someone I would think. I can't imagine why anyone would import it as a more expensive product when Coke Light is available, unless there was a high demand for it.

For those arguing that fat Coke is no worse than Diet Coke, I'd be more than willing to bet that there are more deaths from obesity caused by processed sugar, than there is by cancer caused by Diet Coke.

Like hundreds of other countries around the world, there are Coke bottling plants in Thailand. None of  the Coke products are imported. They are all Made in Thailand.

What do you see on the store shelves in Thailand? The Coke products that sell in Thailand. And they are marketed under the names that sell in Thailand.

I know nothing about the taste of Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Coke Light, etc., but if you don't see a product on the shelf that is specifically labeled as "Diet Coke," then it's only because the word "diet" doesn't work from a marketing/sales standpoint in Thailand. That doesn't mean you can't buy Diet Coke, it just means that it's marketed under another name. A name that works in Thailand.

My favorite barbecue sauce in the States was made by Kraft and it had this long name like, "North Carolina Honey and Brown Sugar." LOL. Imagine trying to market that in Thailand.

After moving here, I bought a bottle of Kraft barbecue sauce that was labeled "Kraft Original."  Guess what the recipe was? Yep, it was the "North Carolina Honey and Brown Sugar." It's an awesome recipe, but here it has a very simple name. Real Kraft Original tastes more like ketchup in comparison.

thats not true. its different from place to place. see cokes own website below

Does The Coca-Cola Company produce the same drinks in every country?

No. Many of our drinks, such as Coca-Cola Classic, are available in over 200 countries worldwide. Some of our other drinks are only available in certain countries.

We tailor our drinks to local tastes. Some flavours are more popular in one country than another and often there are different ingredients in different countries.

I don't think so -- it certainly tastes different to me!

Even though they (presumably) use the same "formula," I think Coke products bottled in different countries do vary.  Hence the popularity of "Mexican Coke" in border states here in the USA.

Regular Coke tastes different all over the world too. First time I went to the US and tasted Coke made from heavily flourinated water, it was fricking terrible. After two days, no problem.

One of the great things about us humans is that we're very adaptable.

i agree diet coke and coke light definitely have a different taste, in ireland all supermarkets, bars etc sell diet coke but there's a few chinese shops close to me that sell coke light x 24 can packs very cheaply to, i bought a pack and they import it from eastern europe, hungary i think, tastes totally different horrible stuff.

I think Coke light tastes better and sweets than U.S. diet Coke, and Coke zero is nice too.

Your stomach might like to know this.

A very popular trick to refurbish old rusted/pitted/tarnished golf clubs is to soak them in diet coke overnight before polishing.

Put a hot dog in a glass of diet coke for a day or two. Then go back and look at it! Nasty. Luckily I have a good stomach lining!

I'd take the Diet Coke over the filthy fat filled hot dog.  :GoldenSmile1:

A vultures stomach contains acid that is 50 times stronger than humans.

They can eat rotten meat infested with killer diseases with no issues, due to the acid killing everything it touches.

My point is, stomach linings can be quite strong!

The Diet Coke vs Coke Light vs Coke Zero are not different in the sweetener as I read the chemistry of them.  They differ in taste to make Coke Zero approach real sugar coke flavors.

For those that think the sweetener is not an issue, take Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 and come back and try and say that with  a straight face...

As an aside, you know you walked into a bathroom with a chemist if he washes his hands BEFORE going to PEE.... he may wash after as well, but most of us will not touch our smaller self without washing up.... Touched with even a tiny bit of caustic or sulfuric acid on a fingernail and you will NEVER do it again ;-)

I've always been against diet drinks. Never found the taste to be to my liking. I just sparingly drink a real coke every now and then.

I am heading back to LOS at easter for a couple of weeks. I was discussing the trip with a friend who lived there for about 2 years. I told him I was thinking of throwing a tray of real diet coke in my luggage to take with me because drinking coke light is not the same at all and i need that shit to survive. He suggested looking for real diet coke in Thailand.

Does anyone over there, especially any Brits or Irish lads know if Diet Coke (not coke light) is available in Bangkok or Pattaya.?

Why do you drink that shit ?
