I don't see how? At least on my iPad.

 

If I start a thread and choose 'Edit' on the first post, I can edit the title.

Once the Edit option disappears, after a few days, I can't see where to edit title??

I tried it on the couple I started recently just to be sure.

Go to 1st post/edit post/full editor/change title

 

I got the idea as Sateef edits titles daily in his excellent photo thread

 

I will try on ipad once it charges

Yes, I've done that before but the thread is now so old that I no longer have the option to 'Edit' the first post.
