Well, it's over now, just watched the torrent. I felt Diaz won... easily. But they gave and I mean gave, the decision to Mc Gregor. Since he says he can beat anyone, let him fight Jackson next. :Think1: He is a good standup fighter, but I still think he has to prove his ground game.

It was an awesome entertaining close fight, but I think Diaz did more in the last 3 rounds and should've got the decision. There's just something about McGregor that pushes peoples nerve, Could be big man syndrome?.....Im sure the 3rd fight between these guys will be epic.

Looks like a fix to me.  Diaz did not really want to win that fight.  He did a bit more than he had to so the judges just gave it to McGregor plan B.  If Diaz had won the fight he would lose a multi million dollar payday for the 3rd fight and the UFC would lose more. No coincidence this fight was in Vegas baby.

Diaz not using his ground game is a sure giveaway.  He had an incentive not to.

Having watched it several times I have to agree with the above comments. UFC is heading in the same direction as boxing, I would have given the fight to Conor 3 - 2 rounds but it looked as if Nat was holding back and almost got it wrong, it would have seemed to go against his grain. As said Money Talks, and fairly loudly on watching replays. Conor was at his maximum weight and still didn't make the cut, I suspect Nat was 15/18 lbs the heavier and it showed. I believe that if real Nat could have taken him anytime from the 3rd onwards.

If the fighters union goes ahead then fighters will be getting a bigger cut and you may see more of this.

It was a good card, The means fight was pretty good.

Yep, ended up being a very good card. Shitted all over 200 & 201. Great KO by Johnson over Teixeira, wow!

In the main event, I wanted Diaz to win, but I thought the judges were spot on. I also scored rounds 1, 2 and 4 for McGregor and 3 and 5 for Diaz, so I had McGregor winning 48-47. I know one judge gave Diaz a 10-8 round in the 3rd to get the 47-47 score. It was a close fight that could have gone either way without being a robbery. I also disagree with the conspiracy theorists. Closest round to me was the second. Diaz came on strong at the end of it, but I don't think it was enough to negate the work McGregor had done for the majority of the round.

I typically watch the fights with friends at someone's place and we compare scores. I'm in Pattaya now, so watched at a bar. It's funny, some guys will strongly disagree with your opinion of who won a fight, so you ask them how did they score it. Sometimes, you'll get another viewpoint, but many times you'll get a blank stare like some of these folks don't even know how fights are scored.

As far a Diaz holding back, go back to his fight with RDA. Did he hold back then? DIaz is a very good fighter and one of my favorites, but I think recently folks have been considering Diaz as something better than he really is, simply because he beat McGregor, who also is not as great as he and some of his fans think, previously. Props to both guys for putting on a great fight. I don't think it was as good as Lawler-Condit earlier this year, but considering the build-up, it delivered. We've seen these guys twice now and I really don't need to see it again, both guys should move on at this point.

Oh, one thing I did see was McGregor running in the fifth and Diaz flipping him off. Classic Nate, I love it. Diaz is right, McGregor stole everything he'd been doing for years and with Diaz it's real and with McGregor it's an act. Oh yeah, Diaz said he was hurt during camp and still thought he won the fight. But then again, when have you ever heard either Diaz brother think they lost a fight ... lol.

I just read and I have to agree, Nate Diaz did a great job but Diaz isn't even a real contender at lightweight, he is ranked 5th I think. And McGregor had his hands full. Diaz can take a beating and can not be intimidated but Conor would be no match for the elite lightweights. I would like to see Conor fight any of these guys Eddie Alvarez, Khabib Nurmagomedov , Rafael Dos Anjos , Tony Ferguson and a great fight would be Donald Cerrone but I do not think he will go back to 155

If you thought I was that advanced would you ask me if I understood?.”

Conor is at a crossroads and which ever way he goes he is going to get found out...

He has spades of confidence and trash talk but in the ring he cannot back it up...

His dismantling is on the horizon and it will not be pretty!!!!

Why? Because he loves fame and money more than the Stockton 209 route as in fight and train as if your life is dependent on it...

I agree with you guys - the fight was rigged.

Every time Diaz had a chance to put Mcgregor on the ground he would release his grip. We are talking about one of the best ju jitsu guys in the world here, against one of the worst ground game guys in the UFC. If you are Diaz it is a no-brainer on how to win that fight - get it on the ground. But he never did. It was only with 10 seconds to go he put Mcgregor on his back as a token show of his ground game.

Big money showdown for 3rd fight on the way.

I love Nate, but as dumb as he is, he knows a loss sets him up for one more big pay day.

"Make it a close fight, then claim you were robbed" sets him up for the Trilogy.

Next time though, Nate takes him to the mat over and over again, destroys Conor.

I agree the third fight will unleash Nate not that he is really even a serious contender in the scheme of things.  The UFC is now really a joke.  A former shadow of itself.  The greed factor has set in.  It is owned by Las Vegas casino mafiaso intent on a sale for billions on an initial investment of millions.  Over the course of the last years we have watched as wrestlers have been penalized or avoided for their craft while promoting boxing and what really is close to bare knuckle boxing at its best.  Now we don't even pay attention to weight classes or contenders just follow the money.  Rather pathetic in many ways.  However, I am still watching albeit somewhat reluctantly as I know most of the fights are not rigged.  I actually enjoy the undercards more now than the main events.

I completely agree with your comments regarding wrestlers and I fully expect UFC to give McGregor a LW title shot before Khabib, as unjust as that would be.

I see some comments on why didn't Diaz use his ground game more. Well, in order to do that he would have had to get the fight to the ground first and he couldn't as he was 1/7 on takedown attempts.  Gotta give some credit to McGregor's takedown defense. I've read that Diaz's alleged injury limited his grappling, as well. One thing's for sure, Diaz definitely needs to work on checking kicks. In other news ...

And how can Conor vs Mayweather be taken serious when Conor is winded after round 2.  Mayweather would destroy him.

Those were intentional half hearted takedowns by Nate he so much as said it in a post fight interview.  Conor's take down defense is not so good.  He will likely be exposed in fight 3 as there will be no more incentive for holding off.

Agree the next fight will see McGregor regret calling Nate a "Cholo from the Hood" those words will not be coming out from his mouth when Nate skewers and chokes him on the ground in Nate Diaz v Conor McGregor 3

Very close fight, but decission was evident for McGregor, as UFC can guarantee a 3rd fight that will boost PPV and more merchand for 2017

Cant remember an epic dog fight since Forrest Gripphin vs Stephan Bonner, from TUF Season1 finals

Really Lawler vs McDonald blew this away and a few more.  Nate has so much scar tissue he'd bleed from a facial massage.  In reality McGregor did little damage.  I will be watching and reassessing this fight next couple days to see if I am correct about my first thoughts of fixing.  Strange thing was Nate was acting like the leg kicks made him inoperable than magically he is fine from the later rounds on.  Add his Nate's half hearted take downs and McGregor moving just fine than magically he claims a broken leg after the fight.

These guys are supposed to hate each other but they were hugging like a tag team after the fight and Nate was not in the least pissed about the decision which should have been a split for McGregor at best or a victory for Nate.

Throw in the fact the UFC is owned by mafiaso Casino owners, the fight was in Vegas and the UFC just happens to be up for sale with two prospective buyers offering billions.

Follow the money.
