I stopped back in at Prime tonight. I was tempted to ask for a Paris Chicken Sandwich, but I was already confusing the poor waitress that had the bad luck to draw my cranky ass. I decided to try the Dubai with jalapenos, which is their standard chicken sandwich. Not bad, but I was not wow'd.

I do like the atmosphere, the curly fries, and service level. I will likely try again before too much longer and see if I can order a Paris Chicken with jalapenos.

Last night, went to Hemmingway's in Jomtien, had the beef stroganoff with chips, 250B plus extra 30B for the chips. Tasted good, beef a little tough but eatable. Not a fan of ordering off an iPad would prefer the old fashioned menu, Also, lighting was poor, and looking at their daily specials, while well priced mainly around 200B, nothing inspirational for me. Always reckon you should leave a place thinking must come back on xxx and try their xxxx.

Place was busy around 19:30 last nigh, service guy was good, did seem a bit overworked, maybe just my timing. Have to say, Jomtien overall seems to have gotten busy over the past few days.

Looks expensive at nearly 300 baht tbh. As long as you got value for money is all that matters though.

The Yorkshire pudding that came with the chicken roast dinner at Cheap Charlies that I had the other day was so sweet and dense I thought it was dessert, reminded me of bread pudding we get back home.

One idea might be to go to Prime Burger's Facebook page and message the Swedish owner about the special order you want.  I have never had much luck in explaining substitution or changes to Thai wait staff.  Either they  don't understand or have strict orders against accepting substitutions.   Farang owners or managers are usually a better route to go regarding special orders and yours doesn't seem a difficult one.

Scottie's Restaurant & Minimart on the ground floor of the Centre Condo has been serving moderately priced farang food for nearly 20 years.  The Centre Condo is located just off Pattaya Tai on Soi 24, about 150 meters west (towards the beach)  from TukCom.

I tried one of the weekly specials, the spaghetti bolognese for 169 baht.  It included two slices of garlic bread and a small serving of fresh salad.  A large portion of spaghetti was topped with a generous amount of U.K.-style bolognese sauce.  It was more spaghetti than I usually eat in one sitting when I make it myself at home.

The spaghetti was cooked properly; not too soft or hard, but, like Baby Bear's porridge, just right.  The sauce had plenty of ground beef and (hurrah, hurrah) the taste wasn't overwhelmed by tomato paste. What it lacked was oregano and other Italian seasoning.  That seems to be a characteristic of the U.K.-style spaghetti served in  Pattaya.  It's heavy on the ground beef but light on seasoning. There seems to be a fundamental difference between "spag bol" and North American spaghetti with meat sauce,  Both stem from adaptations made by  immigrants to the U.K. or U.S., but the U.S. version tastes more Italian.

The garlic bread was excellent,  toasted nicely and with a good balance between butter and garlic. The salad thankfully came without the ubiquitous Thousand Islands dressing and I ate it with a sprinkling of vinegar. It wasn't a great meal, but certainly a good one for 169 baht and 30 baht for a bottle of water.

The menu at Scottie's otherwise consists of the usual Pattaya array of international comfort food, including pizza and Tex Mex dishes.  Prices are moderate, but not as low as restaurants like the Hungry Hippo and Cheap Charlie's.

The restaurant was filled with a mixture of bric-a-brac, larger items for sale and Christmas decorations.  Apparently Scottie's holds regular auctions and some (all?) of the items on display might have been destined for the block.

The cluttered appearance gave Scottie's a homey feel and look, assuming the home belongs to a hoarder.

Bingo is also an attraction at Scottie's, as are regular drawings for prizes.

I was given a ticket for the Christmas Day drawing, but since you have to be present as a paying customer to win, I won't be using it.

I had eaten at Scottie's a few times in the past when I lived near TukCom and the meals I had were good. It's not a convenient location for me these days,  but I wouldn't hesitate to go there again.

It's worth mentioning that Scottie's has a low-priced Christmas turkey dinner.

I'll go against the norm here and say Prime Burger sucks. The burger is not juicy at all. It's the beef that is the issue. People from US would easily recognize that. And it was too well done. 

I find it hard to believe that this place managed to win awards for this kind of shitty burger. If you want the real deal, go to Arno's in Mall 21. That's where you find the authentic shit.

For 300 and less list, I'll also add Easy Health. It's a nice little cafe like place which offers plethora of dishes which are tasty with good portions. It's the place to be at if you workout and need your daily dose of protein. I used to go there every afternoon when I was in Pattaya in November. 

Also, if you download the Eatigo app, you can secure some discounts on your bill in this restaurant.

I use this place a lot, tasty healthy food, their rice is extremely tasty and moist.

Was there a few days ago, had the cod, it was tasty and came on a bed of veg-stir fried I reckon. A tasty meal but, am sure it was around 300B, should have had more veg. The place lacks atmosphere/ambiance, its a bit like a works canteen. And there often ars some grab drivers hanging around inside, gassing off.

I think they do a 20% discount between 2 & 6pm.

It does look like the burger in your pic is overdone, but that could be a one-off.    Unfortunately almost every restaurant in Pattaya has a bad day now and again.  I would send any burger back that was overcooked.

That could well be the case.  I was basing my comment on what leon77hd said about the burger being "too well done" as much as the pic.  And in my own experience, the burnt edge of the Prime Burger wasn't that thick.  But it could just be the smashburger effect.

Just like girls in Pattaya, we all have our preference as I personal think the smash burgers at Prime burgers were the best ''Seasoned" freshest meat tasting burger I ever had in Thailand. I tried the burger at Arnois Terminal 21and probably the worst burger I ever had, not an ounce of seasoning very bland tasteless burger, never again.

Yes 2 chicken breasts with some brocolli and carrot salad. Costs like 190 Bhat I believe.  On Eatigo, you can get upto 50% off depending on what time slot you book. In my time I mostly saw people who work out come to this place for the most part. They also do weekly delivery and stuff I believe, which is super nice. 

This time I'm going to try their smoothies too. There's lot of variety there.

It's not just the edges, the whole thing is overdone to the point where it doesn't even feel like meat at all. There is a test to check a real burger. When you press the burger bun from the top, a real burger is supposed to ooze out juices from the patty. This thing is like fried chicken in it's texture. 

 

That's how a burger should be.

Today, had the daily special at Robin Hood Avenue, Bacon cheese burger with chili con and home made chips, came with a spicy salsa. Photo is with lid off, the beef patty was small, chili tasty, and  overall, a decent quality meal, filling and excellent value at 199B.

Meatloaf is an iconic U.S. comfort food that's a lot like the girl in the nursery rhyme who had a curl in the middle of her forehead.  When meatloaf is good, it's very, very good, but when it's bad, it's horrid.  Good meatloaf is rarely found in Pattaya, which is doubly unfortunate for me as it's a personal favorite of mine.

A few days ago I had the meatloaf daily special from Tigglebitties for 200 baht.  I added a slice of carrot cake for 50 baht so my order would qualify for free delivery. I really enjoy the food from Tigglebitties, but its location on Soi Regional Land is inconvenient for me. 

Ordering meals via the Web site and delivery has been hassle-free. This is the link with the full Tigglebitties' menu:  Hotmeals2U.com.  I should say, "with the full menu everyday except Dec. 25."  Apparently the only meal you can get delivered today via Hotmeals2U is Christmas dinner for 595 baht, but that's an idea for anyone who can't make it to a restaurant. 

 Here's what the piping-hot order looked like when it arrived 40 minutes after I placed it.

The special consisted of two slices of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy and the usual array of boiled vegetables.  

Everything was fine, especially the meatloaf.  In fact, I'll give it my highest accolade: it was as good as my mom used to make.

 The sauce had just the right amount of spice bite and tomato tang to make the groound beef mixture pop. The sauce had a complex taste that went far beyond ketchup or tomato paste with a few shakes of tabasco. 

Tigglebitties is one of the most consistent restaurants in Pattaya.  There's no hit or miss, good one day, bad the next about it; the food is always at the same high level. By way of illustration, this is the meatloaf special I had back in July.

 It looks almost the same as my December order.

And to top the meal off,  real U.S.-style carrot cake with cream cheese icing.

It was a small piece, but it only cost 50 baht.  Small pieces are the way to go when it comes to calorie-rich desserts.

The management and staff at Tig's know and U.S. food.   Unlike so many Thai cooks who struggle to make farang food they've never eaten, the kitchen staff and waitresses at Tig's have a thorough understanding of how American favorites should look and taste. Tigglebitties also uses quality ingredients, which is another key requirement for good American food.  You can make neither a good hamburger nor a silk purse from a sow's ear, although pigs' ears are fine in Thai-style hot dogs and yam hu mu.

Quite a few U.S. classics are available at Tigglebitties that are uncommon in Pattaya: meatloaf, corndogs, sloppy joes, country fried steak,  beef dip sandwiches, pulled pork sliders, biscuits and gravy (or U.S. biscuits alone).  The menu also has plenty of American standards such as burgers, hotdogs, hot wings, chili con carne and other Tex Mex dishes, pancakes, apple pie, etc.

The Monday BBQ special deserves mention. It comes in four variations ranging in price from 160 baht to 325 baht.  All are available for delivery.

I have ordered the Ribs & Chicken combo and with a couple of extra side,  it was enough for a Thai girl and I to share. It was excellent BBQ and both of us liked it a lot.

I won't go into much detail, but I'll give pics of other dishes I've had on delivery from Tig's.

The beef dip sandwich was a daily dpecial at 275 baht.  I ordered it deconstructed so the bread wouldn't get soggy.

Thinly sliced top sirloin (225 grams) and a toasted baguette came with an au jus dip and lettuce  and tomato.

It's interesting what farang foods appeal to some girls.  One I know has fallen in love with bacon-wrapped shrimp.

 

Real chili con carne done U.S. style, with one of Tig's homemade biscuits on the side:

The garlic bread comes with the meal, but not the biscuit.

A combo platter with bacon-wrapped shrimp. chicken sticks and half a small quesadilla for 180 baht.

Some of the best apple pie in Pattaya at 80 baht a slice.

 

Bottom line: Tigglebitties is a great place to have a meal or order food for delivery.  I did an eat-in review earlier this year in this thread  (LINK).

And if you're still stuck for Christmas dinner, you could always give Tig's a call or order for delivery.
