Should I book fast track VIP at the airport in March?

Etihad just gave me a fast track as I dropped my bags at check in plus an invite into the lounge of Cathy Pacific

Makes going home a touch easier, not much but its better than nothing

they used to use the thai airways lounges but last time i was put in i think it was louis taverns.

as far as airport lounges go the ones at bkk are all pretty ordinary. the only really nice one of i've been in was thai airways first class that they once ushered me into years ago by mistake

  • 3 weeks later...

Came in on Jetstar at BKK two weeks ago. Had my bag & was through immigration 10 minutes later. Wouldn't bother with fast track. Going out a week later....Now that's a different story!

Don't bother with fast pass if you check a bag or if an airline such as eva air forces you to check a bag at the last minute.

I was delayed on a flight to KL and had very little time to make it to connecting flight. MAS met me at the arrival lounge with a sign and escorted me through the airport  while they frantically found my bag and transferred it to a Thai airways flight to BKK. When I arrived it was the first bag out, one person in immigration before me. Bewdy I thought. No, twat in front of me decided that because he had been to Thailand 10 times he wasn't required to fill in an arrival card. Held me up for 10 minutes while he filled in a card.

My point is if your bag is checked in later it will be out first. If you have no hand luggage you will beat the hoards who carry 5 bags on each to immigration. If  you check in early you won'y save any time anyway.

As much as I love all things Australian, I got to get me action of the asian persuasian.

I used BFS (again.... always do) on Sunday night. As always, service was excellent.  This time, I even  had booked luggage and was outside in 15 minutes...  My bag came off about 3rd or 4th, and I was in economy on full 747 flight..................  sometimes you can be lucky.

IMO, using BFS is a no brainer.  It's cheap and efficient. And sadly, you can NEVER judge if Immi will busy or not, because there are that many non scheduled charter flights that can and do turn up at any time.

If immigration is busy you can safely bet that the baggage handlers are also busy. As I posted earlier nearly every time (which is many times) I have arrived I have arrived at the baggage carousel before the bugs have started coming out or just as they are starting to come out. This includes times when the people have been stacked to the rafters at immigration.

I have had varying experiences with Immigration - once out in 10-15 minutes another 1 hour.

Hopefully tomorrow when I arrive it is quite.

Well yesterday was perfect.

Flight was delayed 50 minutes thinking there was going to be a huge delay at Immigration I found no lines at all, place was deserted.
