Buying Car - New or Second

Hello all,

 

Ideally talking here to fellow expats in the area (pattaya)

 

Looking to buy a car.

 

Have about 300k-400k to put down for one new (can do more but i don't want to) and then finance.

 

Alternatively I may look at a second hand car.

 

Anybody hear of any good deals going on at the moment? perhaps you have just been looking also and come across some good dealership deals going on?  I know next to nothing regarding the car market in Pattaya.

How easy is it to get finance for car in Thailand if on tourist visa

I bought a new car instead of a used car for one reason and one reason only:

because I wanted to. I wanted a vehicle that was mine from day one to day $the_last.

I really wanted a MINI Cooper, and that’s what I got.

I threw cost efficiency out the window and went with my heart. (Of course, MINIs are very good for the money, so it wasn’t a purely stupiddecision either.)

In your own name, without a Work Permit, I think it may be impossible.
