Low Season Deals!

dg1980

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Im looking for some low season deals for my mid august trip. Unfortunately, as you may know already... the booking sites do not always reflect the prices that hotels will let their rooms out for. I am trying to contact them directly, but I wanted to see if any of the pattaya experts on here had any on the ground details for places I might want to try...

I am looking for places that:

Have no joiner fee

Are under 1200b per night

cheers!

Look for BM owned guesthouses, they usually have low season deals running.

Walked by Ma Maison on Soi 13 close to Beach Rd. They have a sign out for 999B including ABF ( breakfast ? )

Stayed there a few years back , small rooms , but comfortable , small pool.

I am not ting tong...my mother had me tested.

No joiners fees from 600 per night. Pics and BM reviews in the thread.

I usually book China Garden. Never had a single problem. I always end up comparing to China Garden when I try somewhere else and as of yet, I haven't found anything better for this price range (฿700/night for normal room & ฿1200/night for jacuzzi room).

Pros:

  • Big bed;
  • Great mattress that don't leave you with a broken back the next morning or have girls complain about it (BIG selling point for me);
  • Always clean;
  • Cleaning service even later in the day if you want to sleep in (even had my room cleaned around 6pm once. Gave a bigger tip then usual, because I find this kind of service great);
  • HD television with HDMI input;
  • No additional guest charges;
  • Girl's ID checked at entrance (some might not find it important, but I do.)
  • Can use pool across the street;
  • Possibility for a jacuzzi room with 2 flat screen tvs (one near the bed and one near the jacuzzi) and a double balcony. I've seen worse rooms in 4/5-star hotels in the area;
  • Rainfall, massage & normal shower;
  • Thai personell seems to at least understand English fairly well. Them speaking it is, ofcourse, a whole different matter. But I didn't have to make awkward gestures to get my meaning across, like in other hotels I've been in.

Cons:

  • ฿2k downpayment upon reservation. Understandable because of no-shows with such limited amount of rooms, but still a tad annoying. Done via PayPal, so at least it's safe and not via some weird website.
  • Normal rooms have a view of the alley (then again, 700 baht/night doesn't get you an ocean view anywhere. Still going clam diving though  :P).
  • No elevator and the hallway gets... hot. Taking a shower once you get to your room is pretty much mandatory (luckily, the shower is great).
  • No breakfast/dinner included, but it's a guesthouse and not a hotel. What did you expect?

I usually book a normal room with the last few days or week changing to a jacuzzi room (if available).

I can't think of another place that offers the same quality for ฿700/night. Heard of a few other good places in the area from some friends, but this trip (july/august) I didn't feel like experimenting. Great experiences in the past, so I didn't feel the need to change it this time around. Maybe next time...

Ugh... I didn't mean to type this much. Guess I'm just excited to go again in a few weeks.  :D

That comes to roughly $32.00 a day for a place nice and clean with free breakfast is not bad at all.

Pattaya Bay Resort used to have good weekly deals with free breakfast and Wi-fi.

Havent stayed there since they built the new wing of the hotel.
