Wang Saen Suk Hell Garden

Did something a bit more offbeat and touristy this weekend and visited this place, its not a temple more of a Buddhist training centre. Well worth a trip if you like something a little different!

 

Bang Saen (about 40mins west of Pattaya) is a nice little coastal village that is mainly a Thai weekend retreat. I read about the hell garden a few months back and finally got round to visiting! Also paid a visit to monkey mountain and ate seafood at one of the restaurants overlooking the beach.

 

I live about 15minutes away from Bang Saen and was going to live in an apartment on the same soi as Saen Suk!! Didn't know it was located there when I viewed the apartment though.

Great photos.Been to that place few years ago very strange.The crazy Dancing robots dressed up as old women had me in stiches.

The place is called Wang Saen Suk and is only 90 minutes away from Bangkok on the way to Pattaya.

I do have a question. Wouldn't 40 minutes west of Pattaya put you in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand!!???.. Maybe that should be north?

I know this place very well, I've been there many times with some of my visitors.

The « hell garden » is located inside the “Wat Sa” temple (Wat Saen Suk), on Baeng Saen Sai2, Soi 18, 500 meters from the beach – a very much nicer beach than Pattaya beach btw.

Easy to park your car there, and entrance is free.

If you are going there, you can also go feed the hundreds of (aggressive) monkeys on top of Khao Sam Muk – peanuts and bananas are on sale.

A garden such like this i have seen in a small village between Nakhonratchasima city and Bua Yai city. Too bad no digital pics of it, was more as 10 years back. I guess there will be more over Thailand.

Have you been to Bangsaen Beach before? I wrote that blog a couple of years ago and do remember that we drove up and down a bit before we found the temple. You will see in the map that the temple is back from the beach a little way. Shouldn't be a problem. Just follow the crowds. Don't forget to also visit the monkeys while you are there!

There is a place in Isaan "Wat Pa Nonsawan" near Thoet Thai they have similar figure park.

Yep you will find it in Bang Sean, on the way to Pattaya. Suppose you could do it as a day trip from Pattaya or Bangkok. It's on my to do list next time for sure.

 

I think there are a few hell gardens in Thailand. 1 in sukothai and maybe in amnat Charoen too.

For sure, there is another Hell temple in Phayao also, in the North of the country. Been there in April this year.
