Ryder Cup Begins in Gleneagles

Tiger is not very well regarded as a Ryder Cup player apparently, and is often pointed out as not really liking the 'team' concept, being more interested in his own successes. I doubt if he will win another four Majors, to match Jack's record. He has however been cursed with injuries, both to his leg/s and back. Given perfect health, who knows just how many records he would have set. He is now approaching 39 years of age, from memory. Nicklaus won the Augusta Masters at aged 46, so perhaps there is still time for Tiger to add to his present score of fourteen Majors.

The young Frenchman Dubuisson, the player you mentioned, is very flamboyant and hits the ball absolutely miles, seemingly with little effort. He is likely to be a star of the future. Only time will tell.

(Final Score - Europe 16.5 - USA 11.5, as you will all know)

Top all round performance from the European team .   Those early singles points made it a fairly comfortable afternoon's work .    Mcilroys trouncing of Fowler and even more impressive G mac's comeback win over Spieth .

Roll on Minnesota in 2 years

Agree, gutsy performance from McDowell. Great team effort all round from Europe.

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

+1, but a lot of credit should go to Spieth. He and the big Texan guy appeared to be the only two on the US team who were really prepared to put up a fight.

Mickelson's post-match comments were a disgrace - there's a time and place, and all that.

I thought Jimmy Walker could hold his head up with the other 2 rookies.

As for Phil, disagree with you there.  He was asked a question, he answered it forthrightly & honestly with his opinion, too much dancing around the truth, seems to have not got the USA team much.

Tom Watson prides himself on being a straight shooter, so why should he be concerned when someone else expresses an opinion, that would be a tad hypocritical, would it not?

Why try and make something out of not much, that is the duty of journalists, ours as readers is to discern the difference !!
