I will be returning to Pattaya looking at condos next month and thought about staying at this hotel .Looks quite nice and Tripadvisor is quite complimentary . The only think Im not convinced about is the glass walled bathroom .Quite happy to watch a beautiful Thai girl shower but don't think either of us wants to watch the other perched on the toilet !
Be very grateful to hear from any other members who have personal experience of this place.

Hi Teecnx, I stayed in the D2 last January excellent hotel. Big pool good rooms central for town .. Girls very impressed with the hotel.. The room furniture faces away from the bathroom.. But if you are at the desk on Skype to your mother just checking how she is and your gf is in the shower that is viewable. There's a woman in your room and she is naked is so funny coming from the old dear . Gf was mortified when she realised what had happened I was on the floor by now laughing so much it hurt . Good memories good hotel hope its of use to you

PS there is a small dividing wall between shower and the toilet so no danger of seeing what you don't want to

Dusit D2 is a great hotel and 100% girl friendly in BOTH senses of the word.

I stayed there twice, both just one nights for reviews. I am pretty sure there was a blind to close the bathroom off.

This hotel changed management last year and is now run by Accor, not Dusit. This page says that as of September 2013, there is now a joiner fee of B1000: http://www.guestfriendlyhotel.com/guest-friendly-hotel-pattaya/#Beach_Road Can anyone confirm this?

September 2013 Update : “Please be informed you that for Visitor fee at THB 1,000net per night allow 22.00-06.00 at night only. Kittiporn S. Reservation Office”

Other than changing the signage/branding did Accor put any money into renovations or repairs since taking over the hotel?  The pictures suggest that they haven't.

Room isn't user friendly IMO.

Very odd shape and my room was tired.

Staff are good however and no joiner.

Think I paid around £50 PN with an E-Bookers code.

It wasn't worth any more than that.

I prefer Tim's and Page 10.

I am going to Pattaya by the end of this month. I will stay in Marriott for 4 nights. Baraquda for 3 nights. Mercure for 1 night. I am sure Marriott no joiner fee. I stayed in Baraqada when it was still under Dusit and no joiner fee. Never stayed in Mercure before. I could give updates of the joiner fee issue of the 3 hotels.

I reported on my stay at the Dusit D2 (as the hotel was known back then) here.

I posted some photos here.

I think the single best thing about that hotel is the location. It's convenient to everything.

I stayed here a few times before when it was under Dusit. Now it is under Accor. Once, I booked a studio room, the hotel upgraded me to the 2 stories suite. This time, no upgrade. I think some of the rooms are being renovated. So, not many toms available. About services, I could not tell. I was so drunk last night and had to take a motorbike from Walking Street back to the hotel. I remember there were 2 people behind reception. About the breakfast, I have never had breakfast here because the rates here mostly without breakfast. A breakfast cost 5 to 6 hundreds here. I rather to sleep a little late and go some place else to eat.

I need to make another post. The hotel really making renovation. I need a nap every day when I am in Pattaya because I won't be back to the hotel until 2 or 3 am. At 3pm, I heard drilling, hammering, and sawing in my room. I got a good deal "stay 3 pay 2". But if I knew that would be that noisy, I would have stayed some place else. They will do that until December. BM be aware!
