My insurance is not the same as the uk at all, it just doesn't work in the same way.

 

Each bike is covered to rent out and everything has a pay out limit on it here.

 

if you have a uk licence you can show it the the traffic office and they'll issue you with a thai licence.

The insurance doesn't cover for loss and doesn't cover you if you don't have a licence.

 

the cover will pay up to 50'000 in hospital funds just the same as all thai insurance on rented bikes, we have tried to get better cover but its impossible to get in thailand as there's only one cover for renting out bikes.

 

Now we have the cover on the bike but the full rental cost with the rental insurance is only 100 baht per bar day on a 2 week rental and 80 baht on a months rental.

 

Now would you be willing to pay nearly 260 to 300 baht per day for a bike with full cover or will you walk to the next shop thats renting the bike out for 80 baht per day and forget about the insurance cover that you wanted...?

2 tips to make this more difficult:

 

bring your own lock

 

Lie about what hotel you are staying

 

 

 

That said, i've never had problems and i don't know anyone who actually got victimized by this scam, it's probably not all that common....

Right here's how it works if your rental bike and it gets stolen.

 

For the customer:-

 

If your rented bike has gone the first thing to do is call the company you rented it from and tell them the bike has gone.

 

For the company:-

 

They should come to where you lost the bike A.S.A.P and assist you with this matter.

 

For the Customer:-

 

Now if the bike has been stolen and your sure of this i.e you remember parking it up and locking it up, i say this cos many times i've been called out it this and customers can't remember where it was parked, thats one of the reasons why I'm still thinking about the GPS bike trackers

 

Now once you know you its stolen ask where its parked for CCTV and ask the company you want to file a report to the police, if the company say no or they'll deal with it, smell a rat and don't accept it and tell them your not paying for anything unless we all go to the police station and get a full report.

 

This will make sure the bike is registered as stolen and the company will not be able to rent it out again.

 

now if you end up paying for the full cost of the bike ask for the green book and a copy of the persons I.D card make sure they sign the book over to you and keep a copy of the police report, remember you have paid for the bike so you own it and not the company.

 

if they are not willing to do this then go to the police or see a lawyer and he will be willing to take this on on your behalf.

 

remember this is from a company that rent's out over 30 bikes....

 

Regarding feed back on this forum i've not been a Business op on here too long and i've not had too many members rent the bikes from us but we have good feed back on other pattaya forums, google plus and Facebook along with our website.

I want to give a plug to this great little company.

 

I have rented off them a few times now. They deliver a bike to your hotel at any time you specify.

 

The last time I rented I had to leave early in the morning. No problem for them, I just left the bike key at hotel reception and they picked the bike up later.

 

Their rates are excellent, the bikes are all pretty new, and the service is great.
