I thought Pres Bush f**ked up the whole world in his eight years of presidency , I dont know how the next President going to repair the massive damages, a real big job for the next president. Hope the next one will be far better than President Bush. I personally thinks Bush should be locked up in the mental home after all crazy things he made in his last 8 years... Maybe you may think i,m wrong, that the way i felt about him.. I've lots of relations in USA and it worried me about the way the Bush had done for America

The winners write the History.

IMO Bush is truely an evil man and commited some tremoundous attorcities in the name of pure greed and personal vendetta.

However as we the west hold the power and currently write the History his legacy he wont be seen an evil War Monger.

I liked Clinton and thought it was a stupid system that only allowed two terms.

I actually liked Hilary Clinton , but i also like what i have seen In Obama

Would like to see Barrack but I think McCain will get the nod, way too much "politics" in politics.

Interesting to see all the non-Americans commenting on the potential American president. Ask any redneck from the midwest who Gordon Brown or Tony Blair is - I am sure they will be "damned sure it one of dem' fellas driving the turtle wax car in the Pineville speedway."

I just think having Obama or Clinton, if she was still running, is way too controversial. Lets face it, the power brokers of America are the bible belt, white America still reigns supreme. I am not trying to cause racial tensions or raise racial issues, its just an observation.

A black man, as brilliant as he appears to be, or worse yet, a woman, will, in their ignorant eyes set the place back 200 years. McCain represents everything thats wrong with America, he will try and push his republican policies minus the tinge that Bush put on that party.

I really hope there is a change, for the sake of the world, hopefully a bit of sanity will prevail, but at the end of the day, I really believe that no matter who wins power, the way things are moving, there will still be a consistent approach to all that has been laid by cabinets before the new president elect whether it be the supposed war on terrorism, control of oil, an attack on Iran, Israel and so forth........

If Obama does win, the time is right for him to really make a difference, its all very JFK-esque I believe......just hope the comparisons end with the aura and attitude of the guy.

Thanks BC for your opinion. I dont live in America and have no idea what "Joe Six Pack" is thinking--but I read blogs and news and have contact with people in the states--so i have a semi-educated opinion and my take on the USA is that most people are just sick of being lied to. Granted--this is not 100% but well over 51% are just sick of it all. Obama represents a chance to change it. Lots of conservatives are way pissed at the republicans and think they need a spanking. Remember--conservatives believe in less government and fiscal responsibility. Lots of them will sit out as a condemnation of the current republicanism. And a recent poll says 90% of white america is cool with a black president. I guess we have "24" to thank for that.

Yeah--the world has changed! I read a report that said a large percentage of under 30 people had friends that we of different ethnic/racial origin. Not just acquaintances--but friends. Take a time machine and go back ten years--friends reduces to acquaintances, ten more years---acquaintances reduces to "know". ten more years and we get "have met, have been in a restaurant, have seen on a bus."

Times change and for the better.

Maybe the time IS now? i hope so. Can only make the world better. And that is a very good thing.

As a euro crypto-communist (all europeans are crypto-communist for americans, even if you are rightwing in europe ;-) ), I favor Obama...but if I had to make a guess, it would be McCain: He had an image of a moderate within the republican, even almost independent, which should serve him well for a second round, while the democrats candidates, both obama and clinton, were more controversial. In europe, extreme canditates tends to do very well in the first round, but it is the moderate that win the last round usually, because he catches the vote of the undecided much more effectively. I guess it is the same in US...

That being said, Obama is popular and more mediatic, at least that's the impression in europe. And McCain, strangely and imho very unwisely, has lost somewhat his moderate image by endorsing many ultra-republican views.

So it is not as one-sided as I would have feared...but republicans can still win imho, by playing on the fears and using the weaknesses of Obama: He is a little bit too ethnic and maybe has not distanciated himself enough from his community to be viewed as impartial, but the thing I really fear is republicans playing on uncertainties about his religious views: He seems (in the view of a non specialist) quite fragile on this ground...

I hope Obama will make it. Althoug what is he able to 'change'? The world has big problems in Afghanistan, Irak, Iran, the

whole middle east. It's not that easy to find peaceful solutions for that. But America is a leading nation in the world so we all look

forward to the elections.

Obama had it sewn up until Hillary dragged the primaries out and weakend the party and Obama.

I'm a die hard conservative who will vote for Obama.

One reason he has the best chance of receiving the educated white vote is because his father is African, with no ties to the goddamn civil rights movement...which makes the NAACP puppeteers squirm. The average black will still vote for Obama.

The main opponent to Obama winning is old white women. They are the strongest voting group iirc, and most of them are heading over to McCain now that hillary is out of the loop. Racial division is still strong in the minds of our elder voters.

McCain is too old and too much of the same old song and dance, if you ask me.

Sorry if this post is a little disjointed, I am on my mobile.

Personally I hope Obama wins - I think it would be a BIG thing for the US to have a black president. Yes lots of people wouldn't like that, but hey, the same people got used to hippies, the pill, losing Vietnam and 'family values' (whose values, I wonder?) etc etc. They'll get over it.

A black president, without doing anything, could boost the morale of many blacks / coloureds and might shut up the victim types ('oh, we never get a break, the evil white is always against us'). I think it would be a true change that would have a great impact.

I'm not familiar with Barack's or McCains' qualities. But both should do a lot better than Bush.

Men want to fuck many women. Women want to fuck the best provider. Only in the paysex scene both goals are met.

It's a bit scary i think if McCain gets in as america seems to be right in the shit these days and as an outsider i would have thought that maybe a change to Obama could be good for the old USA.

Still what do i know...................lol.
