I heard the electric was 10 Baht per unit. thats over 2 times more (4.5) than regular rates at a condo. So if I'm spending 3,000 Bhat per month for 38 Sq Meters - it would be something like 6,000 Bhat + per month (maybe less if rooms are small). I use allot of air conditioning = 24/7.

Condo's in Jomtien are better - and get you out of the zoo area - just the way I like it. A really nice swimming pool with good food is my choice - over a gym. Try View Talay 1 - Baht bus 24/7 no problem.

10 Baht per unit electricity adds up over 1 month.

well this is what I have on it from the management agents...

' Utilities are metered and are priced at 10 baht per unit for electric (which is high but as there is no service charge or Vat it is acceptable) and 30 Baht per unit for water. I would expect a single guy to use around 1,700 – 2,500 in electric and about 600 in water. This is based on you turning the AC off when you leave the room etc. '

So yes the electric IS 10 Baht per unit but I have little experience myself of rates in LOS merely being lucky enough to get 1 month stays in, 1-3 times annualy now, and not yet lucky to live there. I can't compare to Jomtien as my nearest equivalent was staying for a month in a friend's apartment at CenterCondo at South Pattaya Rd.

All in all, I will have to just see how it goes with this, as one can argue about rates and locations forever of course.. I am MORE concerned about the issue of this apparent 'llive concert next door every night' and wil be asking the management agents about that as I heard it here but have had no comment on that elsewhere yet. This will be an important point with me as I checked out of the Siam Sawasdee on a previous stay entirely for the same reason as the noise was unbearable in my room. Thanks for the heads-up on it!

Location wise this quite suits me I have to say and I like to bus to Jomtien but then I prefer to stay in the 'centre ' relatively speaking.

Someone else who passes by this place can confirm this for you as I just passed it again tonight

I like my area to be quiet when down time is needed in my room either to sleep relax or just watch TV , that shit going on next door to these apartment's would drive me crazy.

I've asked the property company agent to respond specifically on this and am awaiting a response which will be somewhat crucial to my booking or not, I think.

Otherwise I will assess on arrival first night and if the noise is audible inside the rooms then I shall have to stay somewhere else, but that makes my arrangement volatile. The venue itself seems so well thought out it would be a shame if its entire value were ruined by the actions of outside parties. and would be a big disappointment as I like the look of this venue a lot.

This was the situation in Dec 06 with Siam Sawasdee, that one couldnt even watch TV ir sleep or think in the rear facing rooms or open a window in the front ones due to the bandstand next door every night with the live show. The management there could do nothing but watch guests check out one by one and complain about the noise.

I hope this isnt the same thing and that somehow you can't hear it inside the complex..

How often are bed linens and towels changed? What tv channels do you get? One thing that does not look appealing to me is that the beds are set too low. Also, as was mentioned earlier, the sun will wake you when it comes up since there are no dark curtains. It does not look as though you can sleep late. I am surprised this was not thought of.

The "Live Concert" you are referring to was a Thai open air venue on the corner of third and Pattaya Tai. that has now gone to make way for a new development, Tony's food court and shopping center.

This is news to me. Do you mean the large empty land next to Tony's Trade towers will become another shopping center? That is pretty damn awesome. No doubt there will probably be a nightclub involved!

The area from the Trade Center to Pattaya Tai / Third road junction is all being developed, the Thai outdoor concert / show place has now been knocked down, so far there is Pi Rain pub / night club and Lido motel. Under construction as we speak is a shopping center which will enclose the existing Pi Rain club and part of the Lido motel and the remaining area will be a huge food court.

Looks like he's gradually taking over how long before we will have to call it . . . "TONY'S PATTAYA"

I'll be willing to trade for these two rather beautiful 5,000 Baht bills.
