Well I have been many times in Pattaya (last week also) and I am Italian, so maybe I can help.

One good place is Max in soi Post Office (next door to Pump Station), the owner is Italian, long time resident, food is fairly good.

Another one I found good is "le arcate" on Thappraya Road (between Pattaya and Jomtien that is).

Best one is an unlikely "Italian-Russian" restaurant in Jomtien. I was suspicious although intrigued by this strange mixture but I must admit they keep things right: they have one Russian and one Italian guy in the kitchen, both very good at their job, and the manager is Italian (a large guy called Enzo). Seafood fettuccine was as close to perfection as you can get in Italy. Not cheap, I think 250 or so, but great. Pizza ok, but no wood oven, which is bad for me (I am a pizza maniac though). Other kind of pasta just very good also. When I asked him how can it be so good he explained that they even make their own pasta with imported ingredients!! But beware, he will open his own place next summer so I cannot guarantee their quality will stay the same once he goes. Until he is in, it's a must. Lots of Russian girls go there for lunch in their beach clothes, which is another plus!! It is at the corner of soi 5 and is called Oasis.

Thanks for the Russian/Italian tip, I'll check that out.

And I can confirm the one between Patts and Jomtien is very good. When you're heading towards Jomtien FROM Pattaya it's in the right, BEFORE the Thappraya road junction. Outside and inside (aircon) eating. Can't remember what I had last time (not pizza though) but it was very good with the bill being not too expensive.

One Italian place I've never been able to find is the one on the long hill upwards from Patts to Jomtien. Apparantly it is down a small soi and has an Italian flag sign right on the road. Supposed to be really cheap but really good, can't remember but I think someody said that it has red checked table cloths.

Does anyody know what I'm talking about?

There is a really good Italian place just off 2nd road by 'Drinking Street': excellent authentic thin crust pizzas made in a wood burning oven and good pasta.

It's called Tizianos..here is a review in Pattaya People TV:

http://www.pattayapeople.com/default.asp?F...;IdArticle=9669

They do an early evening special set menu which is good value.

Jim2k thank you for starting this thread as I love Italian food also. I have only tried to eat Italian once in Patts and I went to the new Italian restaurant in the Avenue shopping mall on second road.

The food was terrible, I would compare it to school dinners so IMO give this place a wide berth.

Will give the place on Thappraya road a try next time im in town.

For good, cheap Italian try Noon Ristaurantino, located on Thappraya Rd. at Jomthien Nivate (pronounced "knee wait"; look for the sign for Jade House on the corner, an extra plus! :LMAO1: ).

I have had really good Korean food in Pattaya, notably in a place on Soi 0, the next Soi up from Soi 1 obviously, although it is unmarked; it has a Family Mart or 7/11 on the corner. It is down on the right just where the road is closed off. I forget the name, it's a series of Korean words. I heard that whole soi is closed now though so that place might be gone by now. I love Korean food and, if it is closed, I will be looking for another place myself.

Working at getting laid in Pattaya is like working at drowning at the bottom of the ocean.  If you want to get the most out of Pattaya, take the chicks for granted, and enjoy life like you would on any other holiday.

well i just tried this one called "max & something" it was in the tourist mags but it was total crap. what i ordered was a thin crust pie with prossiuto and mushroom. instead of real prossiuto i got ham slices . it had no flavor all together. so far tuscano's on beach rd has been the best for me. i try others while i'm here

I am a big fan of the Italian restaurant on the way to Jomtien, think its called pan pan. Very nice food and wonderful service. I dont think it was too expensive either.

If you like the food at Pan Pan than you are not an Italian! Also the prices are much too high.

10 years ago the food was quite ok, but since than it's going downhill fast. The Pan Pan restaurants in Bangkok have better quality.

I haven't been to Pan Pan for quite some time, and I live across the street. Last time I was there I was unimpressed by the food but VERY impressed by the tab, if you get my drift.

Try Don Joes in Walking Street. The melanzna parmigiana is to die for and they have a good selection of imported wines. Cant remember how much everything was but i never worry about price on high quality food. Would recommend to anybody

As a pizza specialist I have to say, that the only pizza place

I have found to far in Pattaya where the pizzas are

truly delicious and eatable is Oasis on Jomtien Road Soi 5

(just at the corner) - just as "irj888" wrote.

Enzo, the (previous) owner used to be located on Soi "0"

on Beach Road (north end of Pattaya), but it was all demolished

in favor of a new expensive hotel complex. He then moved

to Soi 33 in Naklua Road, but after they got "rid off" the farang,

this place went downhill in a few days, so I won't mention this

place's name.

He has just "left" the place Oasis too (in Jomtien), but the place

is still great. But I would like to ask "irj888", if he knows where

Enzo has moved to now, because the staff at Oasis won't tell me

(for obvious reasons). So visit this place before (it maybe)

will go downhill.

I have to tell you, before I continue my recommendations, that

I have been at maybe close to 100 pizza places in Pattaya

(including pizza deliveries).

The second best is Toscana on Beach Road just south of Soi 6

and Soi 6/1. Pizzas are really good but not as good as Oasis,

but okay if you don't wanna go all the way to Jomtien.

It, also by the way, used to be located on Soi "0", so they

have been around for a good time.

Pan Pan was good in the year 2004, but went downhill very

fast, as some one here also stated, in a previous post. So avoid

any of the two branches of Pan Pan in Pattaya.

NickThePizza, PizzaDelivery should also be avoided

unless you have no taste, they even make Pan Pan

looking like a fair choice!!!!

At the total bottom of the list you will find Pizza Company and

Pizza Hut. If you think any of these two places

is just a little bit tasteful, you should be banned for

this (and all other forums) for lifetime!!!

I know this is my first post, but just check out

the two places i recommended and you will not

have any doubts about my reliability.

I am not italian, but danish, but I really appreciate

real tasteful italian food.

Oasis dosen't look like a fancy place like Toscana,

but don't let that fool you.

Good luck.

Try Pizza Big on Naklua. Has a wood fired brick oven. Not cheap, but good food.

I am not sure how to interprete your sarcasm, but the pizzas are unbeatable

at this place, but go there for yourselves and judge, because I have even

seen people praising Pizza Company and Pizza Hut on other forums.

So, it is really had to find good information on forums, because

90 percent is mis-information. So you need a good filter!!!!

Enjoy your food.

Hi pizzalover, I spoke with Enzo last month, he is in Italy until October.

He got a good offer for summer but should go back to Oasis after that.

Next time I come to Pattaya let's have a pizza wherever Enzo will be working: he is a great cook!

Bye
