Sorry, Kriek, not Kreik.

The old Big C (not Extra, not ex-Carrefour) on Sukhumvit Road also sells Westmalle Tripel (185 baht) and Tripel Karmeliet (165 baht) now.

For 122 baht you can’t buy a top Belgian beer in Thailand nowadays.

Duvel is 190 baht at two places I know of in pats. 300 is pushing is pricey.

I think a bottle of hoegaarden is 200 something at the Hilton in pats.

Gulliver's in front of central has litre hoegaarden draft for 300

There a a place on the second floor of the avenue that has hoegaarden draft too.

True.Im norwegian and used to high alcohol prices.A bottled of imported beer cost the same as at home and a bottle of crap wine here cost MORE than at home.

A pity...............I love a good wine and NICE beers.

Nice selection of Belgian Beers in Friendship just now.

122 baht a bottle seemed reasonable to me.

Thailand charges 450 % excise and other taxes and 7 % VAT on Belgian beers.

Not farang business owners are greedy, but the Thai government.

It's worth noting that at 8.5% it is about twice as strong as the average beer available

...........and many times better !

Duvel is also my favourite beer, drinking it in a irish pub just of nana plaza, bangkok. Cost 300baht per bottle but so worth it. cant help with pattay though. sorry

Here is a picture of some Belgian top-notch beers (all of them 33 cl) available in Thailand.

Left to right: Westmalle Tripel (185 baht at Big C and Big C Extra), Duvel (160 baht at Friendship Supermarket), Tripel Karmeliet (also 160 baht at Friendship Supermarket).

Mai Lu Si on Soi LK Metro is closing end of this year.

Charlie is 65 years old now and wants to enjoy his pension from Belgium.

His wife, Pookie, will celebrate her 35th birthday on 10th January 2014, but they will probably be closed by then at their location on Soi LK Metro.

The staff at Mai Lu Si are distant relatives of Pookie’s.

(She only has a sister in London, no children, no nephews and no nieces.)

I think serving a Thai lady duvel is probably a waste as she doesn't know to appreciate it unless you are trying to get her horny and drunk quick (8.5%) ... Standard Thai beer 5% ... Most Falang supermarket have the beer you will have no problem finding it

Friendship super make close to tuk com

Foodland supermarket on the way to Jomtien

Have it 100% for sure ...

Seen it served in many restaurants but don't have a list ... There is also a Belgium restaurant just behind love kiss restaurant on corner 2nd road and soi Diana ... They have different sorts or used to

Foodland is on Pattayaklang (Pattaya Central Road) and they do not sell Duvel.

I will always remember when I was first in Antwerp and asked the barman for the best Belgium beer he has, and he gave me a glass of Duval. It has to be one of the worse beers I have tasted! But I am a heathen as I do love Stella and Kronenbourg

Aqua Deymie has a fridge with a lot of  Europian beers mostly Belgian French and German.Saw a guy drinking Duvel there last night served in a Duvel glass that also came out of the fridge not cheap but available.

Aqua is at the top end of soi Nernplubwan on the darkside.

If you like Stella Artois and Kronenbourg, you are indeed a beer heathen.

BTW it is Duvel, not Duval, and you can drink lots of top beers in Antwerp.

I can be wrong, but I think that that fridge with transparent door at Aqua Deymie only contains Belgian beers.

And Aqua Deymie is not on Soi Nern Plab Wahn proper, but on Soi 47 off Soi Nern Plab Wahn.

Friendship Supermarket does not sell Duvel any longer.
Charlie of Mai Lu Si bar (re-opened at the soi opposite the new Pattaya City Hospital, off Soi Buakhaow) told me there is a dispute between the importer and brewery over a price increase.

DUVEL also available at the Belgian's restaurants Klein Vlaandern (opposite Soi 7 on 2nd Road) or at Enjoy Andre (Soi 6 off Theppraya; 190 Baht per bottle here).

Both worth a visit for a nice, inexpensive steak dinner

300 gram beef fillet, 340 baht, at Enjoy Andre

I must have walked past this place 100 times - I usually stay in pattaya klang. I never realised they served great looking food like this. I will definately be giving it a go next trip

That is Patrick's Belgian restaurant::http://www.patricksrestopattaya.com/

Superb food and many different Belgian beers.

I had the lamb shank there tonight. It was delicious - meat falling off the bone, rich sauce, with a nice Chilean red.20140501_202949.jpg
