Bit of help please, is it ok for the girlfriend to just go to the British Embassy to hand her visa application in or does she have to make appointment.Also has anybody got any tips on booking flights, direct return flights from Bangkok to London. Usually pay £600 but for her coming the other way being quoted £900.

I wouldn't go ahead and purchase any ticket for her until she has been given a visa!

You now have to do the application online, and when finished, book an appointment to hand in your 'supporting' documents.

 

Don't worry about booking a flight until you have had you visa issued, it makes no difference.

Unfortunately it's always a lot more expensive flying BKK-LHR, than the other way round. Shop around, but if you want her to have a direct flight EVA usually have the best price and may have some offers at the moment. Expect to pay around 35,000+ baht.

 

But make sure she gets her visa first!!
