First Hotel

A good friend of mine is off to BKK later this month and has been recommended to the First hotel, has anyone out there got any first hand knowledge of the place, as web searches do not say many good things about the place

Whoever recommended the First hotel wasn't doing your friend a favor. The cheap rooms that are featured on the Internet are in the old section of the hotel that is run down and infested with bugs. It's located on Phetchaburi Rd, which is a distance from the lower Suk (but there is a BTS station near by). Most of its guests are either members of Asian tour groups or Asian businessmen on limited budgets. Worst of all, it's NOT guest friendly.

 

He can get a room at the Nana, Majestic Suites, Manhattan and many others in the Suk area for about the same money as the First. Absolutely no reason for him to spoil a Bangkok trip with a hotel like that. The First should be his last choice.

stayed there in 87 not guest friendly 2 weeks after we got back to london we saw a news flash with a fire in the hotel with people being taken off the roof by helicopters and 13 people died and some were jumping into the swimming pool cheers nadia
