mobile to mobile calls from Thailand to Spain

Any tips on how to avoid paying massive roaming charges if I want to make calls from my mobile while in Thailand, to another mobile (receiver in Spain) ?

 

I've got an iphone (locked, and don't want to get unlocked) but I'm happy to buy another phone if that's a better n option.

Receiver's phone doesn't have Skype, so don't think that's an option for me either.

I do not know what tariff you have, but I recommend to you try some places oversea call in shops or in box for calling. You can try one in Tops shop on Central street. One minute to Czech was 25 B. I think 20 B to Germany. Sorry I do not know tariff to Spain. Forget call from your mobile it can be expensive.

I rang the UK but everytime I did I made sure the balance on my phone was 100 baht, this way, you know how much it's gonna cost.... I got around 3 mins for this...

After reading more tips and advice, I decided to get my iphone unlocked (was a lot easier than I thought), so now I'll just buy a SIM card when I arrive and put some credit on it. I would be surprised (and pissed off) if it cost me 100 TB for a 3 min call, though

 

Guess I'll find out after I make the first call.
