Manee rocks!

Great to learn Thai. It took me like an hour to make basic sentences like:

 

มานี มา นา อา - งู ดู กา - อา มี ตา

Manee along with Piti, Mana and Choojai are fictional characters portraying in stories in thai's 1st-6th grade school textbooks.

they are still being used today i believe.

The Manee - Mana books were used in school until 1994 (that's what Wikipedia says anyway), after that I think they started using textbooks with Glaa and Gaew as the main characters:

 

 

Btw, if you look around a bit on the Internet you can find pdf-scans of all the 12 Manee-Mana books. After you finished them all you should be fluent in Thai

One of my thai friend used Manee and Mana, but she said it was the last year the book was used ... There is Ae & Aorn book too ...
