hi i stayed at the major grand hotel in june this year going back to same hotel in november, the hotel was very good and very big i think i paid about 650bart a night but this was low season well worth a look www.majorgrand.com

Go have alook on www.latestay.com or www.Directrooms.com they give special offers on some hotels...

Major Grand seems to be the best hotel but not in the town centre. A kilometres or two out of town, but it is close to the new Tesco Lotus shopping centre. I think it is currently advertising its rooms at THB380 or THB350 per night - I need to check the advertising hoardings next time I drive past.

I stayed at the Major Grand hotel in June 2010 for two weeks. As above nice hotel reasonable rates at 600 THB a day. hotel has a Karaoke and massage service. I had my Thai GF with me so i couldn't sample the Karaoke girls. Had a massage in the hotel from a Thai MILF. Good massage though. If I was by myself I think extras would have been on offer.

Its a nice place to stay ,not bad .. Cost was 750 a night a 18 months ago when we built this http://alanthebuilder.com/khonkaengallery.html house up there .Once you get to know the town there are about 4 Farang bars and small restaurants .. nice town ..

There is also Chiwin Palace in the middle of town. But A bit old now.

There 1 more place set back off the main rd near the town center ,with girls and a nice bar restaurant !!!

Thanks for the info guys. I been chatting with a Chum Phae gal on Tagged for the past couple of months and I may go up there and bang her after I get back next week. That hotel with the pool looks like the place to stay.

Griffs bar ? is this the best ?
