Thai CD's

This may be a dumb question but I just got a music cd from Thailand and it will not play on my Sony CD player. Is there a compatibility issue here? Will made in Thailand CD's play on American CD players?

sometime the cd you buy is in a karaoke format.. so you have to find a karaoke player to listen or to watch it...

or in some case.. if you got the cd from one of those cheap shop.. they could have ripped you off and gave you an empty cd.. it has happen before.

 

but normally the cds i got form thailand plays just find on my computer... maybe you can try it oin your computer and see what format its in..

There's always the chance that it's a piss-poor copy - some CD players can be temperamental with copies.

i get all my music from the gogo bar dj's just go have a word with them and by the next night they will have the cd you asked for ! and they never mess you about ... and i always check befor i leave anyway

i once had a copy that wouldn't play in my computer at all. I went to a mates house and it played on his computer. So i copied it on that computer. then it worked.

never hada problem with music cds, but dvds or music videos are a different story. they are usually region compatable and may not play when you get them back home. I have a very cheap DVD player in oz (cost $38) and it plays all my illegal copies whereas my mates expensive brand wont play them.
