Electronic Translators ?

I have seen many types of electronic language translators on the internet. I have not used any yet. What experiences you have with them.

I realize they are limited and learning Thai the correct way is best. But while that is taking place, are they worthwhile?

What features are needed and useful?

Thanks

Get the Paiboon Thai Translator. If you have an iphone you can get the app and use it all over (it doesn't use data, or need phone reception)

By far It's the best one on the market. about $30

This is useful also, while learning the language. Having 3 way translation: English, Thai and transliterated Thai also it speaks Thai words and the app also gives explanations of the spelling and so on. It really is an investment

This is cool, it's not perfected or in Thai yet; but, here's a look at the future.

The apps for the iPhone are really cool. But I have yet to get an iPhone. When I do, I am hesitant to take it to LOS for fear of losing it. I would rather use a cheap phone while in LOS

Therefore, I am asking for suggestions for other language translators.

Thanks

As a bit of a follow-up. I purchased a talking translator from Trano. Their model M-811. It has 12 languages on it and will translate between any two of them. It is fairly easy to use, at least so far. It also does not have computer generated voice translation. It is real people saying the words. I have been very happy with it so far. The only negative is that it cost $200 USD. I am fairly certain my Thai lady will be able to use it to translate Thai into English. It is worth a careful look if you need a portable translator and have no iPhone.
