I'm going to Phuket!

Organised for around the 2nd-9th September. Will be my first ever trip to Thailand and excited is not the word! Will be travelling with a good friend of mine who has been to Samui a few times but Phuket will be new to both of us.

 

I have read around as much as possible but am baffled by the number of hotels on offer and its very hard to decide without any recommendations not really knowing the layout of the area that well. We'll be staying in Patong and hotel should be nice, clean, guest-friendly, within a few mins of Bangla Road and ideally max 1000baht/night per room. Would really appreciate any recommendations!

 

Also, being September will the place be fairly quiet and does this have any downsides? Any pointers on where to find the hottest girls? Actual going rate for ST/LT?

I just spent a whole month at SummerBreeze hotel ...it is the best hotel for that price range you mentioned... the place has great security.. the superior rooms are great for 1000 baht... the best thing about the hotel is that the bar downstairs and the staff that work it..somehow create an atmosphere that makes everyone feel included and it is so easy to meet your fellow travellers... bar crawls or the Patong versions are so easy to form there at the hotel... If you have any questions let me know and you can PM me.... it is a three minute walk away from Bangla Road... a four minute walk away from JunCeylon the big mall,, YOu Cant go wrong with it I have spent three consecutive years at this hotel... I would never endorse something this strongly unless i was completely satisfied..

summer breeze is the best guesthouse in Patong, veeeery friendly staff i stayed there for 14 days, nice food, internet is good, nice bar, free laundry service, and bill the owner is a chap, very close to bangla road, go visit maitai bar in soi eric and ask for nicke, hes a swedish dude who owns the bar, he will make sure you have a good time in Patong.

 

i think summer breeze is about 750 thb pr night. and is guest friendly.

i stayed at C&N Patong for 3 nights in early june, 11. paid 1000 bath for a studio suite no breakfast though standard rooms are cheaper. c&n is about 2 minutes away from bangla road and is very girl friendly. i was pleased with the hotel and would stay with them again. bear in mind that studio suites are refurbished recently so everthing is almost new but the standard rooms are in need of refurb. during low season (may to october) most Patong hotels will agree on a discount from the listed price.

I stayed here 3 weeks ago....been Patong 5 times and this was the best place i've gone with and will stay here next time too. Its opposite the Summer Breeze and the location of both hotels is one of the best places to stay (Soi Sansabai). Lots of decent warm up bars and restaurants on this Soi and 2 mins from Bangla.

 

There was also no deposit, just paid for on arrival.

The staff and management of the Summer Breeze get really good reports, only downside is no pool, but Beach about 5 mins away and can use Expat pool for free ( few mins walk ) if you buy some drinks etc there

Pretty sure the Summer Breeze, as well as the Swiss Garden and a few others on that soi, can also have free entry to a public pool on the same soi thats mean't to be pretty decent. This may be the same pool mentioned above.

I mainly crawled the gogo bars and 2500 was the going rate for LT.

 

I liked Suzy Wongs 1 & 2 the best.

 

Picked up twice at bars and the rate was 1000-1500 ST.....depending on the time of night.

Plently of beer bars on Bangla with 1000B LT girls in....I personally recommend P-One, Aussie and Soi Eric/Sea Dragon off of Bangla.

 

In terms of discos, Hollywood had the best selection of girls on my recent trip....some stunners in there. Also, check out Tiger disco...always a good night in there and plently of girls. FL girls 1000B - 1500B LT depending on the girl and how much you want to give them in the morning.

Don't over think the hotels...I did that my first trip also though.

I stayed at C&N hotel in June last year and it's location is fantastic!

It's very close to Bangla Rd yet because it is set back from the main road you do not get a lot of noise.

 

I found a lot of the best girls were the freelancers either on the street itself or in Hollywood and Tiger Discos.

 

Have fun mate...my first trip was to Phuket and I am now hooked!

If you want to go to the GoGos make sure you do not follow any of the touts in, and check the price of drinks before you order

 

Personally I don't think the GoGo's are a patch on Patts, but I prefer the Beer Bars in Patong, loads and loads to choose from, Soi Eric is my favourite Soi, but worth a wander around them all

There are no joiners fees in Absolute Bangla Suites...if you want to impress your girl try BYD Lofts ,large luxury 1 bed suites,,no joiner fees

To OP: I would not book anything before hand, plenty of hotels to choose from when you arrive there. ST min 500, LT min 1000. FL girls mostly in Hollywood and Tiger.

I loved the Deevana hotel (it is also a spa). The rooms are nice and the staff is excellent. For example: I had food poisoning (from a boat SCUBA diving trip) and was on the toilet for 4 days and the maid actually took the time to check on me three times a day. I left her a tip of 2 weeks salary and a nice note to say thank you that I had translated. I became friends with one of the girls at the front desk and she and I chat on occasion via Facebook.
