Travel from Pattaya to the US Embassy in BKK and back

During my upcoming trip in October I have to make a trip to the US Embassy to get some additional passport pages.

 

I was thinking instead of staying a night in Bangkok I could just get a taxi from Patts and have them drive me there and back as I will have an appointment scheduled and will only have to wait one hour at the embassy to get my pages added.

 

Is there any other recommendations for making this trip or is it better to just stay in Bangkok for the night?

May as well just go for the day and get it over and done with. Make an appointment for around 1pm (leave at 10.30ish), have lunch and sort your passport and be back by 4pm or so.
