This is my first trip with my ipad. I picked up a camera connection kit at Tukom yesterday so I can get my pix onto the ipad, but is there a way to add them to a post? I suppose if I could find an app to upload to a free hosting site I could link to them......but that's not the way I'd like to do it. Is there any way to attach them to a post? If not, can anyone tell me about an app to a free hosting site? If I go that route can I make them totally private? I use smugmug already but their ipad app doesn't seem to have a way to upload.

I asked the question here before but had no answers. Someone said it was safari problem but I don't know how to use another browser

I did download some free photo imaging apps most of which are basic, but without being able to upload photos it makes t frustrating

 

I was going to what you are attempting and even edit them on the iPad and upload but can not

 

Maybe you need to do it from the Internet cafe as that's what I did - it's a pain.but I would never travel with a laptop again. The iPad is so handy and fits in the safe

1. Get a free Dropbox account, install the iPad app, upload pics onto your iPad then directly up to Dropbox, once there you can hotlink to the forum.

 

2. Using the Invision app from the app store upload to the gallery then hotlink to your posts.

 

It is something that is regularly asked for on the Invision customer forum.

It was a bit tricky getting dropbox to see my photos, but I figured it out. I'm testing an image here but it's not reduced so I'll have to find an app to do that too.

The image needs to be in IMG tags like this...

No worries, its far from perfect, hopefully something better will come along soon.

 

If you find an app that shrinks pics let me know, I havent been able to find one.

Found an app named Everclipper. It's an iphone app so it runs in a small window. You can reduce the resolution but it doesn't seem to do much for the file size (3.8 mb to 2.6 mb). I'm done playing with this for now. I guess at some point they'll be a much easier way to do this.

(tried adding the img tags but I get this error message:

You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board.

I used the image tool and then tried typing it manually??)

I'm having the same problem can't upload photos with my iPad to pattaya addicts some bm said you can't upload photos with safari mobile, I can't even put a photo for my avatar suppose we just have to bare with it until they fetch some sort of app out that let's you do it

Simply buy a Honeycomb tablet.. ios sucks..

I hope it's ok that I'm basically testing this process in this thread. I did find an app that will let you resize on the ipad. photogene ($3). Works pretty well.

 

I think this pic is now about 188kb, I resized to 1024. 800 would probably be a better option for here.

Ok. So it's not easy but it can be done with dropbox, photo gene and a bunch of screwing around. I hope this is useful for someone.......if not, I'll use it. Dropbox is great for uploading photos anyway so I'm so I'm glad I went through this.
