Recommended Posts

Not sure where to post this but could save all you lot a heap of cash on your mobiles while your in the uk

Network is called GiffGaff it runs on the uk o2 band network so you will either need an unlocked mobile or o2 mobile

its pay and go and for a tenner a month you get 250 any time minutes unlimited web(not capped) unlimited texts and free 0800 calls

there are many other tarifs i use the tenner a month one myself.

take a look yourself

http://giffgaff.com

only reason i found them was when o2 capped there web to 500mb per month i went to the Three network who offered 1gb per month but there reception was really rubbish then i read in the guardian of all places about giffgaff.

been with them about 6months now an no worrys.

have a look tell me what you think.

oh and porting your number to them is easy just get your pak code and fill out an online form takes 2days! job jobbed!

all my friends use it now giffgaff to giffgaff calls are free and dont come off your minutes either only need to top up one time every 3 months to keep calls and texts to other giffgaff users free. is a pretty good deal all round really.

only thing with the free giffgaff to giffgaff calls is max 59mins per call or you get charged just hand up and call again before that time though and your fine

sound like i work in a phone shop lol

dunno if anyone remembers the old genie sims you used to get back in the day before mobiles even had colour screens and they gave you free wap! is like that but with calls and texts and web thrown in! genie used to run on the old btcellnet band to which o2 owns now.

i am a self confessed mobile geek mind. i used to write wml chat sites and sell them but then xhtml came along and killed that along with the facebook mobile site! google itchywap cgp and you can find some of my old source code if your bored!

Yes 3 in our family have Giff Gaff sims alongside o2 sim.Free calls to each other. As they become more well known Vodaphone Orange T mobile etc are going to be swept away unless they chop price by 50% minimum to compete.

Only reason I'm keeping the o2 for now is because of the heavily discounted broadband.

For ringing Thailand I also have icard mobile sim with calls to Thai landlines at 1p a minute and 2p to mobiles but NO CONNECTION charges.
