Yeah, Thai customs are different. You smuggle a few cartons of cigarettes in the UK and get caught its confiscated. In Thailand its a huge fine.

I was stopped not wearing a motorbike helmet & was only fined 300 Bht, the receipt was in case I was stopped again on the way back

to my hotel so another fine could not be imposed....Fair system I thought...

Now I know where they get the expression 'on the spot fine' my mate and I got pulled over because i didnt have a bike helmet on while riding on the back of his bike...in this case it was a 400 baht fine, old mate asked where do i pay this? the copper pointed across the road to another copper sitting under a tree...you pay there, he said.

Nothing different here. People in the West act the same way, I've known both girls and men who cut off most of their hair after a traumatic breakup. It indicates a new start, a new look, a new "me"

Well. In thailand, you will see many locals picking their nose like no one was around. This is opposite in europe, us ect. But they will cover their mouth with one hand while using a tooth pick to hide whatever goes on the. Those to things a very upside down compared to visitors.

Also the thai smile witch can be a cover of sadness, anger, vengefullness and all other emotions. "face" is very thai and has its good and bad sides. Be ware of the smiles....
