A House Construction in Khorat

Here we have a house in Korat, that will be Completed by the end of June. I will add more pictures on the closing stages of this house during this month, this is where our attention to detail shines through.

Alan, pardon my ignorance but why is the pad/floor raised off the ground, where as some buildings are not or appear not to be

Here in Thailand people ether have 1\3\5\7 steps superstition its to do with their religion this client and his wife chose to have three steps up to the veranda were as some people chose 1 step .No other reason than that really however I think keeping it up (excuse the expression)is better for the weather out here.

The practical side is that it keeps water from wicking up through the concrete from underneath. This can lead to mildew, ants, high humidity problems with the AC and other issues. It is a good idea in wet areas. Just need to be careful about critters seting up shop under the house.

 

It is a beautiful house with some very nice finish work. I love the tile and the roofing.
