Virtually impossible to say -- many discussions on here re that subject, and it depends upon how you spend personally. I think the most common advice appears to be to budget around 7500 baht/day. If you have baht leftover at the end of your trip, great!

Also, I think that's high season, so I'd err on the high side, budget-wise.

I agree with the precedent post.

Here is a theorical 14 days budget I wrote few month ago on this thread. It shows a 6,600b / day ( 160€ ).

I can tell you can have a bloody good time with this, and if you have less, it may also work well but you'll just make a few less things or go in a lower class hotel.

********** TRANSPORTATION : 6,000b

Taxi to Pattaya : 1,500b

Taxi to airport : 1,000b

Baht bus and Taxi : 3500 (250/d)

**********

********** ACCOMODATION : 25,200b

hotel August suite : 25,200b (1,800/d)

**********

********** FOOD AND DRINK : 10,400b

Breakfast : 2,000b (140/d)

Lunch : 4,200b (300b/d)

Dinner : 4,200b (300b/d)

Drink in bar and gogo : 8,400 (600/d even if you don't drink, entering a gogo or a bar, you must buy a drink or go out...)

**********

********** GIRLS 41,600b

Lady drink : 8,400 (600/d)

Soi6 afternoon short time : 4,600b (700b girl, 300b room every 3 days)

Beach road afternood ST : 3,300b (500b girl, 120b room every 3 days)

Gogo girls long time : 12,200b (2,000b girl, 600 barfine every 3 day)

bar girl long time : 8,400b (1,500b girl, 300 barfine every 3 day)

Freelance long time : 4,700b (1,000b every 3 day, pick-up at disco)

**********

That's 92,000b

2.200€...

Edit : as GB didn't want to join the € currency, I let you convert it in £ :GoldenSmile1:

If you average it out at 7000 baht a day IMO thats plenty some night you'll spend 10,000 some nights 4000 all up to you

The 2 most obvious factors that will affect your daily budget will be the girls and how much you drink. If you take a ST and a LT plus drink a fair amount each day then your would be safe to budget around 6000 - 7000 baht per day. Food is cheap so that wont break the budget and transport is also inexpensive

As others have mentioned as your a newbie then you may go a bit overboard to start with. Just remember its your holiday and do what you want to do!

Cheers

Jon

However much you take out, don't get scammed by UK banks and travel agents b4 your leave and change your money in the UK

change it in Thailand for a better rate, many places to change when you arrive in the airport

have fun and good luck

Actually, do not change in the airport. Better rates in Bangkok or Pattaya.

That's an excellent tip -- and frequently given on the board: change enough currency to get you to Pattaya at the airport, but change the rest after you get to Pattaya. The rates are much better in LOS than home and much better outside BKK airport than in it.

I would suggest changing 25-40 pound -- I think that's about 1200-2000 baht (I usually do about $50-75 USD to get me started). That should give you PLENTY to get to Pattaya.

Fair point you can get 1 baht'ish better than the thai banks if you change £50 notes in super rich in Chitlom BKK, there is some gold shop I used onces for a good rate in patts but cannot remeber where it was, but the saving to change even in the Thai banks is up to 5 baht better than the UK banks and travel money places

Some hotels accept to take $ or €. But you have to verify that change is not bad... When I have to give a warranty, I give it in € so when I left the country I get back € that I have not to change back.

This seems on the high side. S/B 1000 for the girl.

About 6000 baht a day not including accom, should be ample to have a great time.
