How much for memberships?

Looking at what I've read in here it's the best part of £35 for a single round with a caddy including tip, that's expensive if you want to play a lot. The one course website I looked at wanted about £1600 a year, which is more than double what it would cost here for an average course,almost 3 times, are they all this expensive? 30K Baht would be the most I'd really want to lay out for a year.
