A friend of my runs a huge porn site, free tube,

He is thinking of moving to Pattaya,

Currently he runs his own server to host his sites 'tube'

 

Now what are laws when hosting / servers, porn sites in Thailand?

 

p.s the site is .com, more american, not asian themed.

He'll probably wind up in jail after no time.

Porn is a no no.

He may be able to set it up, but after a while he'll get discovered. He can maybe block Thailand and most of Asia from seeing it though. (of course, then he'll need some way to see and administer it himself)

why would he change where he hosts his site? no need , leave it where it is

A friend of mine from London, ran a porno site few years ago and got arrested with his thai wife.... What did they get ??? Three days jail. but had to buy himself and his wife out of jail for 2 million bahts.... Thay still live in Pattaya but never do it again.... Cops knew the going on, were watching the house for a month or two....

Lets not ask any questions about PA.

I don't think the owners would be interested in spilling the beans, but we should respect them and not intrude into how they run their business.

Are you sure your friend is telling the truth about running freetube from his own server?

My understanding is that an operation like that would need more bandwidth and server power than any bedroom setup could ever produce.

I would also imagine it would be much more economic to pay a specialist oganistion to host and support something like that. All your own kit at retail prices, plus your own huge data lines would a very expensive.

 

 

Anyway I'd guess if he wants to live in patts he'd be much better having all this stuff in a different country. Somewhere that has cheap hosting services for porn and the ability to register it in a different name.

Plenty of this can be researched on the net.

The region is not exact (can differ 100 - 200 km (with special opportunity you can get it exactly)) but I have never had a difference in countries, even if the location is near the border.

 

You can simply get the information asking google -> whois pattaya-addicts.com

you will be surpised which information you are getting including traffic rates, your other domainnames etc.
