Jet Ski Scammers emboldened

Are they similar problems for renting scooters and motorbikes? I've got my heart set on having a few days on a Harley when I get out there.

I hired a Harley Davidson Softtail from Hotrod Pattaya http://www.hotrodpattaya.com/

They took my passport as deposit and I went to return the bike on a Sunday but it was shut. I was flying out of BKK later that day and thought ohh shit.

Luckily I called the guy and 5 mins later, met me, I paid up as agreed and gave my passport back. I would definitely hire from them again.

The bike was very loud and I came screaming around a corner right where a policeman happened to be on Pratamnak road. 1000 baht later for dangerous riding and all fixed. I guess if you can afford to hire a Harley it makes sense for the police target you for some coffee money. Back in Australia our vehicle would be confiscated for a couple weeks so all good!!

I have also hired top of the range jetski's from Jomtien Beach a couple of times and never had an issue. Mind you I inspect the Jetski with the dude before taking it.

It looks like fun but I think I'll give them a miss , I don't want to be scamed . A lot of these vendors look dodgy .Once I was sitting several feet up the beach when one of them torpedoed up the beach nearly taking me out a.nd about a handful of other tourists and babes . Dick heads . But I've always fancied wind surfing ! Are they scam artist too?
