LF good restaurants for a vegan in Pattaya

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am looking for restaurants that serve a good variety of vegan dishes in Pattaya. Anyone know of some? I appreciate any help, thanks in advance!

Indian restaurants will have vegetarian food. There is also a vegetarian restaurant near the intersection of pattaya tai and 3rd road. Learn the Thai phrases for without meat

Quite a lot of Thai food is, or can be, veggie. Vegan is more difficult. All the "over-rice" street vendors have several veggie dishes, and some fish, meat or a fried egg with it is optional. It is common also for meat to be added to the plate at the end rather than being part of the cooked dish, or to get a veggie dish and a separate meat dish, so it is easy enough to gets dishes without meat. There are lots of salads but these often contain meat or fish, sometimes in disguise like the small crabs in pappaya salad.

Apart from eggs there is no dairy produce in normal Thai food that I know of, though watch out for desserts which can contain condensed milk (coconut milk/cream is more common). There is an egg in things like fried rice or some noodle dishes, and in general they do use a lot of eggs. Shrimp paste and salty fish sauce are commonly added to just about everything instead of salt so a really strict vegan will have problems there. Quantities are small though. The other common flavourings of lime juice, sugar, spices and herbs are safe.

Cooking fat always seems to be vegetable.

Cabbages and condoms are in Pattaya also.
