netflix and Slingbox

Recommended Posts

I have searched for info on here for netflix and slingbox but have found next to nothing so I am going to just ask...has anybody been able to use netflix or slingbox in Pattaya with any success? Are there places in Pattaya that have enough bandwidth to make either of these viable? I do not watch alot of TV in Thailand while I am there (although I have a hopeless fascination with Fan TV while I am in Thailand). I have not attempted to use either in Thailand so any info or opinions would be helpful.

Thanks

What I did once, was to download a ton of videos to my laptop in the weeks leading up to my trip. It worked out pretty well as during the quiet times there was something to watch.

Beware the beast Man, for he is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours. Shun him; drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of death.

If you have your own dedicated connection (ADSL, cable) of more than about 2mbits then it should be OK. If you try to do it on hotel wifi then I think that you may be disappointed, except perhaps in the early morning or other quiet times.

That's what I have found anyway.

I experienced much stuttering with BBC iPlayer in the UK, until NTL upgraded the line from 4Mb/s to 8. I don't think the best ISP in LOS is capable enough; best to learn how to use BT / eMule!

Peace. :GoldenSmile1:
