BA or EVA flights

just been looking at flights for may. i usually fly with eva with no complaints.

but as there cost has gone up a touch it's now only £30 cheaper than going with British airways.

so my question is are there any benefits by going with BA (if there not on strike)

I work hard to support those on benefits! :Banghead2:

the whole idea of them going on strike would play relentlessly with my mind, and I would imagine that EVA's price would fluctuate so would keep an eye on the price for a bit longer and if it goes down then book it.

Not flown BA long haul economy (if I go BA, I go Premium), but it looks like 31" seat pitch v 33" on Eva.

2" is a lot, ask any TG. When I've walked down back of plane on BA long haul its looked very cramped.

If you are happy with Eva I'd stick with them unless you can confirm BA's seating is comparable.

Having said that, out of LHR BA are usually very reliable, they tend to get long haul's out even with disruption and they will sort you out if anything goes wrong, hotels, food etc. BA are covered by EU legislation which I don't believe EVA is.

Don't know Eva's record in this area??

I have not flown the LHR - BKK route with BA but have flown other long haul routes with them and am not a big fan. The EVA fleet appears to be newer and the service is better. The BA strike element would definitely play on my mind.

Having just returned from BKK with Thai, I can say that my first choice would be EVA then Thai and finally BA.

thanks guys i will stick with eva, especially with the legroom information.

ba is normally a fair bit more expensive so i was a bit curious if you got extra luxury's for your money

clearly not...

Good choice. I would try to avoid BA on long haul flights if you have the option (and EVA's cool). I've never flown to Asia with BA but do frequent business trips to S-America and the Caribbean with them. Outdated equipment, bad food and the worst looking and most unfriendliest crew of pretty much any airline I've flown with. Def. not worth their money if outside Europe.

Am about to book for October, Eva or Ba?

Can book Eva premium economy [for £60 more than Ba economy.

Travelled both in economy and premium before and would take Eva every time.

BA business and first are the dogs bollox but financially out of reach.

BA are shite IMHO - I'm surprised you found an almost comparable price as usually they are several hundred pounds more than EVA. That price difference isn't justified - they are just an average airline and why anyone wants to take a chance with their ongoing strike action I dont know. Makes me laugh to see them calling themslves the "best airline in the world" when on TV justifying their latest strike action. Shame really, I'd be happy to support our national carrier if they could be competitive.

I've been direct with BA, EVA and Thai and would take EVA every time on price and service. The Thai fleet is too old on the LHR to BKK route. I'm going in June and EVA are £200 cheaper than BA and £125 cheaper than Thai.

To me, leg room would be the deciding factor. On a long flight you need more space and I find EVA to be just right. Also EVA link up well with the local airlines in Thailand , not sure if BA have the same agreements.

Anyone know if EVA accept visa debit as payment?

I tried to pay with visa electron once, they did not except it, BTW Eva every time over BA even at £60 more
