MMS Messages in Thailand?

Anyone know whether MMS messages (ie picture messages attached to a text) can be sent on the local phone sims. I have been providing a mate with endless enterianment over the last week but roaming charges are extreme. The thai card that went into my unlocked IPhone 3 today doen't seem to permitt them. All other data services ie internet work OK.???

i tried it on one2call and it did'nt work either,(on nokia phone) don't know about the other sims tho.
