jing = true (neutral tone)

mai (not) is said with ^ (falling) tone. There are many meanings for Mai based on the tone.

 

So Mai jing. Not true.

 

A lot of words can be said twice for emphasis, in this case you'll often hear an earnest BG say...

 

Jing-Jing!

 

Jing-Jai means sincere.

 

Mai jing - not true
