Quoting Posts, why do pictures only appear sometimes

Hi All,

 

I have noticed that when you reply, or quote someone elses post that includes photo's, sometimes the pictures appear and sometimes just the links do so you have to click on them to see what the person maybe referring to in the photo.

 

Why is this and how can you ensure the picture does appear rather than just the link? When you preview the post you are creating you can see if the picture is, or is not going to appear but how can you make the picture appear?

I think if your new post moves onto a new page then you get the links... if its the same page you get the pics.

 

Never really bothered me to be honest.

It depends whether the person has used 'Add To Post' to put the photo in the text too - and whether it's uploaded here or to a site like imageshack. In any case, you can always right-click on an image and choose 'copy image location' (or browser equivalent) and use the button that looks vaguely like a painting to insert the image into your post.

Ok, thanks, I could not work out why on some of my replies the pics were in there and some were not, when I was not doing anything different my end.

I think if your new post moves onto a new page then you get the links... if its the same page you get the pics.

There is a slow connection issue here, but anyway, if it's one pic from previous pages which someone wants to refer to that's no problem whatsoever.

 

When someone posts 10 or so pics and then someone almost immediately clicks on Reply and quotes the entire post including the 10 or so pics, only to write underneath "Great Post" or whatever, then I do find it a complete PiA, but maybe that's just me.

Yes I agree 100% that is annoying, but sometimes you want to refer to a pic that has been posted.

Yes, that's what I said, no problem at all and I do it myself. If it's a pic from a previous page it can even be annoying if it's not there.

If I quote a post with any pics in which is on the same page then I always delete them from the quote anyway and delete text if it's nor relevant to my reply. As a matter of courtesy I show text has been removed by a ...................
