Naklua Walking Street Weekend Market begins

(PattayaOne News)

The second year of the three-month long Naklua Walking Street Market commenced with the usual grand opening events, led by Pattaya Mayor Khun Ittipon. On Saturday night the mayor and other dignitaries participated and watched as the so-called Naklua Walking Street weekend market was officially opened. A kilometer-long section of Naklua Road will be closed every Saturday and Sunday until 20th February next year between 4:00pm until 10:00pm (then it’s time for people to either go home to bed or wander off for further nightlife activity on the main Walking Street in South Pattaya). As is common with these types of openings the activities involved people of various ages and tonal abilities singing songs and dancing followed by a few speeches and, for something a little different, a ceremonial and excited shaking of a number of cylinders which then exploded into small scale fireworks to get the whole off to a big bang.
